Telus TV Mini Issues

I have to agree completely. The new minis and associated service are a complete failure! Today my wife find that she cannot get “subtitles” (CC) on her Britbox App making it almost impossible to watch. I have sent multiple emails regarding multiple different shortcomings with very minimal success at resolution. Time to consider options!

The Britbox application has nothing to do with TELUS...it is simply an application from a 3rd party that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store to any of the 1000s of devices running the Android TV operating system (including the 2 TELUS TV boxes or the TV mini). If you have issues with the functionality of the Britbox application or accessibility options, your best best is to reach out to them.
No! Telus forced this “enhancement” on me! Maybe you should be dealing with Google to see why this doesn’t work? Luckily I Have ROKU TVs which work perfectly which seems to suggest I have no reason to retains my TELUS service.

I took your suggestion and dealt with Google 🙂 (as in, I googled how to turn on closed captions for the Britbox Android TV application). When you're watching a show, you can press the down button on your remote's dPad (the wheel around the OK button). This will bring up player controls such as play/pause, fast forward/rewind, and skip ahead/skip back. If you press the left button 3 times and then the OK button, it will bring up a Subtitles panel. You can then choose English. Please see below for some screenshots.
Thank You. I have tried this many times now. When I get to the subtitles panel i am unable to change to ON or access the language option.
