Optik tv remote

Our remote for the optimum tv box all of a sudden doesnt work fully. If you hit the previous channel button, nothing happens. If you enter a tv channel (ie 122) the number that you typed in appears in the bottom of the screen but you now have to hit Ok to go to that channel….before, as soon as you entered the channel it went there. 
anyone else seen this?? It just started to happen.
