Latency Spikes Surrey/White Rock

Getting insanely high latency spikes and disconnects recently in the south surrey white rock area.  My firend, whom is currently with telus as well in a different home about 3kms away, is getting the spikes at the exact same times as me.  Anyone else having this issue?

pullout1979 Supersuk subie604 I couldn't find anything about an identified issue in our issues tracker so I'm going to keep asking around. Two questions:

    1) Can you tell me if you're on fibre or ADSL?

    2) Which speed profile are you subscribed to?

    Thank you!

  • Seeing the same thing. In the south surrey area. Started noticing it about a week ago
  • same thing, I live in the White Rock, South Surrey area. Issue started occurring on Saturday night Sept 16th. I did some trouble shooting myself and can confirm it had nothing to do with the Telus Modem or my own router. Packet loss/latency spike occurs every night from 7pm onwards and will continue until roughly midnight. I was able to use a latency tracker and it will spike from 25ms to 25,000ms where the internet speeds drops from 1gb down to 0.01mb for a period of 10+ seconds before it recovers. This will happen almost every 15-20 minutes from 7pm onwards. It also happens throughout the day but the frequency is less. I've called telus customer support and they simply gave me the "we do not see any issues" in your area message and stated they'll charge $150 for someone to go out to investigate if it's deemed not a Telus issue. I am confident this is a Telus issue as I've spent the past few days troubleshooting.

Is this recurring over a long period of time or have you observed this in short bursts?

It can continue multiple times, every 3-5 minutes. Then it can stop for an hour and come back. Subie604 explained it well

Thanks for getting back to me. Are you in a Purefibre premises or copper/ADSL?
