Issue with TELUSTV-21T Telus TV Box

Issue with TELUSTV-21T Telus TV Box

I have 6 boxes on wifi, and 3 works just fine.  The other 3, when I go to live TV, i see a green circle at the bottom right corner and i goes on for a while and eventually I get this error message ERR_PLAYER_P001.  They worked when I received them 6 months ago.  I don't use all TV all the time.

I have done everything on the screen but the problem persists.  I re-booted the box multiple times as well as RESET the box and had to setup everything again on the box.  The issue is the same - cannot use the box for live TV.

Other apps like Netflix etc work just fine.

I cannot ifnd anything on this error message on Internet.

    The error code suggests connectivity issue. Would you have adjust QoS settings on your router, by chance?

      Good question.   My router is on “standard” default settings except for name of the wifi and password.  Good thinking in terms of Ethernet and this.   I have 2 wifi network- will try the second one.

        Thanks for some ideas so far.   I should point out that I think there is something wrong with how the Telustv box interacts with Telus since there is no issue with streaming Netflix or Amazon prime on the box only with Live TV. The guide also come down, only when you pick the channel and then it goes into circle and never starts that channel.

    Totally weird how only three of the six are affected but were fine not long ago. Question: are the affected boxes located in areas of the home where the WIFI signal tends to be weaker?

      I will try checking the name for each box, in terms of wifi - my router is close and on the same floor as these boxes.   The only thing is that is different is these three boxes are used very very infrequently. 

  • Have you assigned/left the same user to all 6 boxes or named them for the room they are in? It sounds like the WIFI is confused.

    You could also try going ethernet with some. I know it should all just work.
