TELUS Internet Suddenly Slow and Unstable Since May 2026
I have been experiencing issues with my TELUS Internet using the TELUS Hub. For the past few months (possibly since May 2026), the connection has been very unstable — sometimes fast, sometimes extremely slow.
The Wi-Fi signal shows full bars, especially on the 2.4 GHz network, but the actual speed can become extremely slow, almost like a "tortoise." The issue happens intermittently and does not seem to be related to signal strength.
Has anyone in Mission, BC experienced similar problems? Does anyone know if TELUS has made any recent internal network changes, upgrades, or system adjustments that could cause this type of intermittent slowdown?
What troubleshooting steps or solutions would you recommend? Should I contact TELUS for a line check, replace the TELUS Hub, change Wi-Fi settings, or consider another setup?
Thank you for any advice or shared experiences.

Possibly you are getting interference from a neighhours Wi-Fi? Is it possible to do a speed test with a wired connection to see if it's a Wi-Fi issue or a problem with your Telus service.
This may be of some help:

We already tried that. We bypassed the router and connected the PC directly to the TELUS modem with an Ethernet cable. The speed was still slow, so it doesn't look like a Wi-Fi interference issue. It seems to be something on the TELUS side.

Hi gopeace99 - Do you have the internet hub that connects to our 5G towers?
If so, there's a good chance that the speed slows down as more users connect to the tower - meaning network saturation. Is the slowdown consistently happening at certain times?
