I have this same issue. I'd love to try and solve it by first sending a text message with a pictre, but it doesn't give me that option at all.  When I look at my photo options, it gives me email, bbm, etc, etc, but no option to text.  so how can i send a picture by text for my first time???

In addition to the aforementioned, you will require to have an active cellular data connection (not WiFi) in order to send & recieve multimedia messages. Try disabling your wifi, and ensuring your data is on, then test. Once you are certain you have an active cellular data connection, try taking a photo of anything (to insure you're not trying to send a protected image) and send it to your own number. If you have a Facebook account, go to the TELUS page and send them a private message. The social media team will help you out. Faster then calling 😉

Hi, you most likely have an older CDMA device, probably a Blackberry. The way for you to change this and rectify this matter would be for you to upgrade to a newer device with SIM card.

I hope it help.

Hi there,

In order to receive MMS - (picture messages), you need to send a picture message first.

Once you have successfully sent out your first message, your device will be able to receive.

By sending out a picture message first, you "provision" yourself on the MMSC - Multimedia Messaging Service Center, allowing you to receive from that point on. Hope this helps.

Did that still nothing

My phone will not display picture texts.  I am redirected to /snap.  I never had a data package, have been able to enter a different password to view them in the past (1 1/2 years ago).  Help!

You can't view pictures in the snap site anymore. You need to have the data enable to be able to view pictures received by Picture Messaging.

@ET

   Since the topic of Snap comes up repeatedly, maybe a comprehensive post with a clear title would be a useful addition to the boards. Might someone at Telus with some knowledge of the situation put together a few paragraphs?

@NFtoBC The snap web site access was discontinued a year and a half ago. Therefore, if you still remember your snap login you can most likely still access it. However, TELUS employees do not have the information anymore if you forget it. Therefore, I would say that the only place to look at MMS pictures in on your mobile device. I hope it makes sense.
