Good afternoon!

Today is the eve of the new iPhone pre orders! I have a question however. What time does the Telus pre orders open up? I remember some said a couple years ago at 12:01am and then 3am.

What times does it usual open for pre orders?.

Thanks!!

It may depend on which time zone you are in at the time of release.

BTW, it’s is not yet afternoon in BC.

Hello @NFtoBC

I am in Toronto Eastern time. I have heard that the pre orders open up at 3AM EST on the pre order date.

However my question is when does it got live. What time did it go live last year? Was it 3AM EST? Or what time was it. ( doesn't matter if it's not in EST as if can always figure out what time it will be in EST).

Hey guys!

Will Telus support the eSIM on the new iPhones? It will defeat the purpose of Dual Sims if we cannot use it for travel and have the second SIM slot full with a Telus SIM.

Hello @BrianToronto

I would love to know this as well. However Apple only showed that Bell is the only Canadian carrier at this moment that will use ESIM for the iPhone at their announcement.

I hope Telus does indeed bring this feature out!

Hi i would like to know if esim will be available on Telus network when Apple update their iPhone Thanks

Hello @technbio

Unfortunately the Telus forums seem to only be user to user base. Unlike the Rogers ones which have Rogers MOD staff which post and help out.

Word is only Rogers and Bell are doing it but we shall see. Maybe Telus will place nice and offer it too

I am looking forward to it (Today ).

Re: Iphone xs/xr/max esim support

Yeah Unfortunately only Bell is the one using ESIM for the phone it seems.. Rogers, Telus, Fido, Virgin and the rest will use sim slot instead. So i believe that Bell might have gotten a 30-90 days exclusive rights to do this just like they did with the Apple Watch 3 last year ( Telus started selling it in December which was brought to light that Bell did have a exclusive rights for it.).

If that's the case then we just have to wait.

Any update on TELUS plans to support the phone esim? Really upset at this rubbish, Apple releases a phone with an esim and it becomes a useless feature. I need dual sim. If TELUS is gonna drag their heels on this I’ll port to Bell.

Hello @toyotoys

Unfortunately it seems like Bell has exclusive rights for the ESIM at the moment for the iPhone. Thus why Apple only announced Bell would be the Canadian carrier to use it. So Telus, Rogers and the rest I guess have to wait until that's up.

Many times Bell has done this. Including with the Apple Watch Series 3 last year. Telus was able to sell it in December vs Bell at launch in September.

That doesn’t make sense to me. Apple is using the esim to push its use case so they can go all esim on the next iPhone. Would it make sense for them to give one carrier in a given country an exclusive on its use? Sounds like an excuse to me. Probably best to just port. Thanks for the update.

Thats what Bell hopes will happen when they negotiate the exclusive release.

Hello @toyotoys

Unfortunately if a carrier offers more money for a phone or a service then other carriers, they get exclusive rights for The produce or service to be released to that carrier for a period of time. Apple doesn't have to do it for all carriers. They pick and choose. Again same with the Apple Watch Series 3 last year. Bell got it 2full months before Telus.

Goodluck with Bell!

I think TELUS will get the ESIM function mid December to get it in for Christmas and the New Year. It is in the site now under change SIM ... just not active yet.

Any update for esim for Telus..Hope when they handle it that we can switch our line..not pay for a new one..i think Bell ask for that...

It’s sure looking like the carriers aren’t interested. Worldwide support is next to none. You’d think if Telus or Rogers planned support they’d announce it. But so far just crickets. Anyway I need dual sim can’t tolerate carrying and charging two phones every day. I’ve decided to sell my Max rather than change carrier. I can see why Apple is in the hole right now. Shouldve just released true dual sim worldwide and not just China.
