Yearly prepaid and renewal of the Promo
One year ago I bought the $100 yearly prepaid with promo "BONUS100" that gave unlimited Canada calling and Unlimited texting with 2gb data every month for 12 months.
My plan is set to expire very soon.
Question, If I top up my account with another $100 and set to auto renew will the BONUS100 roll all the 'promotional extras' into my second year for 12 more months ?
I have had different answers from Telus and store reps saying no you revert to what ever the current offer is, to "yes" it will. Another "yes" but ONLY for the 13th month ??
Please, if someone from Telus can actually give the correct answer that would be appreciated. If the promo will not extend or no clear answer I will have to port to another provider who offers similar to what I have currently. Thanks

Hi Greygables, Telus has so many different answers from yes to no to maybe ! I have read over at another forum site that customers are discussing this same thing and getting similar answers. What I have figured out is the official answer is NO it won't renew. If you call prepaid customer support then you get a different answer from them too. The potential hassle if the plan did not renew in full is not worth it. There are a few other competitor providers that offer yearly plans with firm renewal language and similar pricing. I will be porting out to another company that is straight forward with their wording and answers. This was a great plan and glad I did get it for the year. The current offer is very poor. I don't want to be stuck on 400 minutes and 400 texts for the year. Oct.4 2024 when this Bonus100 plan started and ended July 15 2025, Telus should have had a replacement offer that was the same or similar for renewing customers. The current plan since July 15 is 400 minutes/400texts for the year, a shadow of what we did have. PM me for competitor options if you want.

I will likely leave next week as well. I called Telephone customer support and was told the bonus didn't renew but asked me call back on October 15, two day before my plan expires, strongly suggesting I may get a different answer then. I will call but it would take something in writing and maybe official confirmation from TELUS_Support to get me to stay.

As mentioned above, the Bonus100 promotion was offered for 1 year only and applies to new activations. All features included in that promotion: unlimited talk, unlimited text, and 2GB of data are part of a single promotional bundle and will expire together at the end of the 1-year term. After the promo period, your plan will revert to the base features of your prepaid plan.

Thank you for the quick reply. There is still a disconnect with Telus regarding the Bonus100 yearly plan. I requested a CSR call back from Telus prepaid to clarify the questions posted here and terms and conditions of the plan. I spoke with an agent named Sheila on Oct. 7 from prepaid support. She told me on the phone exactly the opposite of what Telus support said here via a PM and this chat.
My agent Sheila put me on a hold and came back and said 'YES' the promo will remain on my account into the 2nd year and continue for another 12 months. Provided I have $100 in the account before my expire date and set it to auto renew. She also said not to worry as the conversation and my questions are noted in my account. They also record the conversation if needed in a dispute was mentioned.
My friend also has this plan and he called prepaid support. He spoke with an agent named KayCee. She also confirmed the promo will remain intact for the 2nd year.
From the customers point of view what CSR or department is the customer to believe with totally different answers to the same questions ?? There seems to be a lack of communication somewhere at Telus in relaying the proper information to customer questions on this matter. Can this BONUS100 plan concern be escalated to a manager at Telus to actually get the correct information please for the customer ? I currently don't have any confidence in Telus to get this right. A managers contact to clarify would be appreciated and regain lost confidence in this company.
I see the same concerns voiced on different social media platforms asking the same thing with the same opposite answers being given to the customer. Please have a Manager reach out via PM or a call back to discuss the different info supplied so far by Telus reps. Thank you.- TELUS_Support

This is what the reply to my PM was. Not very encouraging. There is lots of different answers from Telus reps and employees it seems.
They said this: 'So the Talk & Text 100 option will renew itself on the 16th of Oct if you have the balance ($100) in your account. The 2Gb data offer was only valid for a year'
Even though I have a screen shot and sent it to them stating under the terms that it will renew with promo's intact. Read through the whole Terms and conditions. It does state at the bottom that to maintain the promotion you must renew prior to expiry. To me it should renew as purchased.

To confirm, the 2GB data promo was available for each month for one year only, and after that period, the plan renews at its regular rate without the promotional bonus.

So does the Promotional Unlimited talk and text also fall off, you only mention the data portion of the promo? If I was to renew then is it only the 400 minutes and 400 texts for the year ? You only mention the 2gb data portion not renewing. The original Bonus100 promotion was unlimited talk, text and 2gb data per month. Those three features WERE the promotion not just the data. Again terms and conditions (5) show in writing from Telus on their website while this plan was available to new subscribers. That from Oct.4 2024 until July 15 2025 that as long as the account is paid for prior to expiry, the promotions ( all three) will remain. Please read the terms from Telus I posted in the above post. Again it does state the promotions will remain as long as the account is funded in full by renewal time. Please show where only the data portion drops. Very misleading to read from Telus one thing told by the store it renews and then be told another answer by the neighborhood support . Please clarify in full to my questions please.
