Port gone bad (thanks Telus)
Looking for suggestions here. Got a new Telus phone and temporary # in June and ported a number from Public Mobile into Telus. You'd think it'd be a no brainer. That ported number is working fine, but six times this summer we've had texting conversations joined by a third uninvited person who turns out to be the person holding the temporary #. Weird thing is that although the monthly bills show the correct phone #, when I go into my phone settings to look at About My Phone (android) it is showing that temp # as my only phone #, not the main number I ported over and shown on my bill. Tried calling *611 and that dept. is closed apparently. We're miffed because we've had several delicate text conversations, including ones revealing email addresses, being joined by someone using that temp #.
- does anyone know when the correct department (mobile tech support I suppose) opens on weekdays?
- has anyone familiar with this happening?
- Thanks.

Recently saw a similar issue on iPhone. The user had set a number of utilities (FaceTime, Messages, etc) to an EU number for travel, but didn’t set them back on their return. Changing the number in settings for those apps corrected it.
Also, check that you didn’t start some conversations from your temporary number, as it would still be attached to that string. Delete and start a new conversation.

Hello Jeferson, it's a pretty strange issue and I'm wondering if it may be related to the RCS service. Is there any way to change the temp number listed in your phone to the proper one ?
