Google Play Charges to my Telus Bill

Telus Support got back to me almost immediately. Apparently the watch phone number was still linked to the account who previously had the phone number. They gave me a credit for the charges!
The only thing I don't understand is how no other Telus associate caught this before today!
Wow! This is incredulous. I have just been told by customer service agent that they will refund the amount charged to me. I think the same is happening to me and they still havent caught the root cause. I have now removed Telus as payment option from all accounts and have requested customer service to block telus from google play or payment option. Hope this stems the issue
