Port 9100 Closed?

We recently switched to Telus service and I am trying to get our network printer working.  Printer requires port 9100 to be open.  I have created the port forwarding in the router, but cannot seem to connect to the printer.  When I check if the port if open on yougetsignal it shows as closed.  Does Telus block this port, or have I missed a step somewhere along the way?

    Are you trying to print from outside of the home to your home printer, or from within your home network? Which Telus router do you have?
