Why is Telus shy about dislcosing future coverage expansion plans? Our area on the west side of Lake Okanagon is starved of decent High Speed Internet,
Considerable road widening of Westside Rd is planned for 2016/17 and offers an ideal opportunity for Telus to place fibre optic cable from La Casa to Muir Rd. Customers in Upper Fintry, Lower Fintry and areas beyond are screaming out for fast reliable service.
Telus usually places fibre in areas with sufficient population density and where the fibre trunk already exists. This is mostly townsites with 5000 plus population. Their announced plans for the West Kelowna are mapped here. Announcements for other areas would occur only when firm plans are in place to service an area.
Given the distance and numbers in the Fintry area, possibly the community could explore the opportunity to invlite a point-to-point internet service supplier to provide network services.

We are serviced by a point to point provider, but the service is terrible with frequent outages and very slow download speeds ( .5 Mbps since last Saturday).
