"Time Shift" is Telus-speak for providing network channel offerings from different markets. Thus for shows that do not start at a specific time ( e.g. sporting events) you can watch on the Halifax affiliate rather than the Vancouver one. This would allow you to watch 'The National' at 7:00, rather than 10:00.

For me... it's not sporting events.... but TV series.

  • people on the West Coast can watch TV series live when it's broadcasted on the East Coast.
  • East Coast can catch up on shows they missed on the West Coast.... especially if you forget to set up the record event
  • You can watch news from an old community used to live in.
  • If you have a PVR and you max out the number of recordings for a given time (especially prime time).... you can record them earlier or later to double up your available recordings
