"Hi, I had 459.22 Telus Rewards points as of December 2023, and last week I was shocked to find out that the points have suddenly expired. If I had known about this, I would have cashed in the expiring points for rewards. I only found out about this when I got the March 13, 2025 note from Telus saying that Telus is improving the Rewards program, and that points worth 1 unit in the current plan will be worth 1,000 units starting May 1, 2025. Then, to see what my current point balance was, I logged on to my account, and was horrified to find out that I had well under 100 points, when I had 531.44 points as of my December 28, 2024 statement. Going back through my old bills, I now see (March 2025) that Telus said, in the fine print at the bottom of my December electronic bill, that the points were going to be expiring; but, honestly, who would be reading the fine print after 10-15 years of collecting points without interruption. I couldn’t find any letter or e-mail from Telus other than this. A change of this magnitude surely should have been highlighted to customers. Would I be able to get those 459.22 points reinstated? I have been a Telus customer for about 40 years … going back to BC Tel in the 1990s and in the 1980s with AGT in Alberta (both of which merged to form Telus). Thanks for your consideration."
so if one point is now 1000 each, how did you end up with 100?

The 100 points (actually 80-something) was what I earned between January 1, 2024 and mid-March, 2025. Those points didn't get wiped out; only the points before 2024 got wiped out. In the new system that kicks-in effective May 1, 2025, we will all get a conversion of 1 old point = 1000 new points (with very large numbers of points needed for new rewards, I assume). This is according to the March 13, 2025 e-mail that I got from Telus in which they said I was a valued Telus Rewards member, and they are updating their terms and conditions for the rewards program.
