Why does Telus limit 3G service?

After I went from the iPhone X to the iPhone 12 I no longer have the option to use 3G for Voice and Data in settings. After some forum posts and checking specs I realized that Apple is not limiting 3G access on their phones, Telus is forcing people to use 4G and up. I don’t like this forced change. Telus’ 4G and 5G network is spotty at best in the prairies. I find myself waiting longer for websites to load, or having websites crash more frequently. What is the reason Telus? 3G simply works faster and better on my iPhone X than 4G or 5G does on my iPhone 12, hands down. Please let us access your 3G networks!

Your phone should fall back to 3G for times when 4G, LTE or 5G are unavailable. Also remember, Telus runs on the Sasktel network in Saskatchewan, and mostly Bell in Manitoba, so there may be issues of lack of 3G capability in those areas.
