Unless you have a business Internet account you won't have a static public IP address. You will need to set up Dynamic DNS and do some management of your domain host records.
I'm pretty sure TELUS blocks the standard email ports for residential accounts so you will also need to use non-standard mail ports. You will also need host records to manage the port redirection.
In summary, it's not recommeded unless you know what you are doing.
