I need a replacement tv box, I have one that does not want to work, takes too long to boot up and then shuts off. Why is there no easy way to do this? The chatbot is useless and you guys shut down way too early imo especially for those of us in the west.

Definitely not the experience we want for our customers. You will indeed need to speak with our Home Services team directly for this, so we'll send you a private message to discuss that further!

I am not quite sure what is going on, i watch on an nvidia shield which has worked great, I think it runs android 11. Recently the app updated and now watching the blue jays game vs yankees on the 4k channels the colors are all wonky. A severe red push has suddenly appeared its unbearable. Im not sure what is going on. From what I can tell did you guys try to add HDR support for 4k channels? The red push during the yankees jays game was just awful. I notice the signal is trying to show hdr but it is not switching my LG oled to HDR at all. I dont know if thats causing the issue, I have never seen the shield not switch to HDR when watching hdr content from netflix, plex, ect...so something is weird with the telus app and this last update at least on the shield. It looks better once the game is over I believe, so not sure if the game is airing in HDR, but my lg oled is not switching into hdr mode on the shield, and I have never seen that before.
The post game show looks better on the same channel so I dont know whats going on. I have never seen a BT 2020 program not auto switch my tv to hdr on my oled. This is the first one.
And again it looks better on the post game show at least. Never had this issue on the shield anymore but im not sure what telus pushed out recently to android devices...

Montell We haven't made any changes in our Android TV app that would impact HDR on live channels, but have gotten similar colour space comments as they relate to our set-top boxes. The first comment came during the Stanley Cup finals (Florida's jerseys looked orange) and we engaged the engineering team at Rogers. It seems to originate on Rogers' end and is related to changes they've made in their UHD upcaling. We'll bring it up again.
Montell what city are you in? This may help the engineering teams triangulate.

Hi Optik Kate and Telus Team,
These colour issues are still present on Sportsnet 4K channels, specifically while watching the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre. You mentioned that it may be a Rogers issue, however these colour issues are not present on the same Sportsnet 4K channel on Shaw/Rogers boxes. I have photos of both my Telus Android box picture and a photo from a family member’s Shaw/Rogers box on the same channel from tonight’s game and the colour is normal on Shaw’s 4K channel. The colour is also normal on other Sportsnet HD channels on my Telus android box.
As Montell said, it’s quite a red/orangish tint. I can’t seem to attach the photos.

Optikal_Speak GREAT, now I am again not up to date. I have 1.25.3.300 or you made a typo.
I just checked and my favorites step up/down one at a time with the wheel and 6 at a time with the 'ch' up/down.
I press the guide button to exit prime/Disney or any app to get back to TV guide and from there look at recorded shows. It is a shortcut instead of back back back and then OK to exit.
Additionally, if I choose the up button on the Ok wheel a "mini" guide appears again with All Subscribed channels in sequence.
Or the down will bring up mini guide.
I am no longer experiencing
My expectation (ask) is that once Favorites are set one should not have to press Guide to activate/initiate, as the only means, to stay in/with Favorites w/r/t the remote's functionality.
Once My Favorites is created and "locked in" any of the remote navigation or scroll functions should operate thru the My Favorites list...no?
For several months now I have not lost the favorites as the default guide except when there is an update push it defaults to subscribed, but a quick choice to FAV and it stays there.
- Optikal_SpeakAmbassador
Creating, editing and setting Favorites and having them "lock-in or hold" has not been an issue. Not to sound like a broken record, but accessing and scrolling thru Favorites is only available when you select Guide.
So again, Favorite radio button is hilighted thru the Press Options filter so Favorites are selected, set and ready to roll (scroll).
Will the function be programmed into the remote such that when you're watching a particular channel and you press Ch+ (NOT Guide) on the remote it sequences to the next Favorite channel in the list or vice-versa when you press Ch- (and NOT sequence to the next All Subscribed channel)??
Or in the case of the Ok wheel pressing ↑↓ the mini menu will appear and default, ONLY, to Favorites and NOT All Subscribed channels??
Clear as mud now😉 otherwise I give up on phrasing the question or request.

I would love to know more about the 'favourites' and 'remote form and function' comments. If there's specific favourites or remote functionality that you're looking for, please share, as it may already exist, be programmable or have a bug the team isn't aware of. The form factor for millions of remotes isn't as easy to change quickly.
This remote has already used a button for multiple purposes and it is a matter of learning without looking.
Therefore the "ch" up/down should already be adaptable to the chosen guide, the favorites, the subscribed or the all channels. It should go up or down on the chosen guide and not jump to subscribed.
The rec button, one press records one time, two quick press and records series, press and hold brings up all recorded shows.
The "OK" button has so many jobs
Pressing the guide while watching an app returns to the TV guide, actually to your chosen default guide.
So Optikal_Speak is asking for a simple programing to make the up/down channel button scroll up or down in the displayed guide. While your tech is in there make a double tap change pages not just line at a time.
- Rocky3Guardian
Optikal_Speak have you scrolled thru fav with the up/down of the circle? That is what I do

I'm not sure I'm following, so here's what I can tell you.
1. There are 2 places to access your favourite channels: the home screen (see screenshot) and in the guide, with the filter set to favourites. There was a bug some months ago where this filter wasn't persistent from session to session, but this was resolved awhile ago. You should see 'My favourite channels' in the top left of your guide view when the filter is active.
2. When in the guide, tapping the d-pad (or wheel around the OK button) up or down moves the focus on the guide cell up or down one cell. Tapping left or right moves the focus left or right one cell. Pressing and holding has the effect of fast-scrolling. Programming a double-tap is complicated timing-wise, as users have different tapping speeds and some might want to jump 6 while others might only want to move 2 cells. This will help some and make it worse for others.

Thanks for the detail. My app version 1.25.4.300 is current. Creating, editing and navigating as you described is understood and functional.
So, question...you have to press Guide button, as the only means, to access (activate) My Favorite Channels list and navigate from that point?
I'll try to be more specific and clear. In My Favorites the only 800 series channel I have ❤️'d is 815 BNN Bloomberg . The next sequenced favorite is 900 TSN. All the other 800 series channels I have not set to Favorites. Yet, when viewing 815 and pressing channel up (not hitting Guide first) it changes to the next All Subscribed channel list in my case 819 and so on.
Additionally, if I choose the up button on the Ok wheel a "mini" guide appears again with All Subscribed channels in sequence.

Appreciate the reply, but that’s been the same line for quite a while now. I don’t doubt that the team is working behind the scenes, but from a customer perspective, the pace and visibility of progress are minimal — especially compared to what TELUS was once known for.
The shift from a dedicated carrier-grade solution to an Android-based app experience might make sense from a cost and infrastructure standpoint, but it’s come at the expense of reliability and overall quality. Many of us were hoping TELUS would lead in this space, leveraging fibre to deliver something truly next-gen — not just chase the low-cost model.
Hope the improvements coming down the pipeline are meaningful, because a lot of long-time customers are losing patience. Looking forward to seeing some real progress soon.

What are the 2025 feature updates?
- Rocky3Guardian
Respectfully, the ability to set pre and end times to a scheduled time has been available for 20 years on the individual level. What I am noticing is the new tech appears to be driven by the new tech generation.
Banking is another pet peeve. I until a few months ago was able to view my online bank statement in the long tradition of oldest at the top progressing to the newest at the bottom. I bank at two places and both have adopted this newest at the top. WHY are the new generation of programmers messing with what we all grew up with?
- Optikal_SpeakAmbassador
Because they are 20 somethings. A mentor of mine used to say "hire 'em young cause they know it all"! 😉

Any thing new to report?
I see a new App Version 1.25.1.500 and Config timestamp 2025-02-13T18:53:39 yet nothing notable as far as function changes?
Still lots of frustration wrt ongoing documented issues.

Thanks for the update, now I have an expectation. Mine still shows 1.24.11.100 Time stamp 2024-10-23T19:50:08 but Android changed to 12,API:31
- Optikal_SpeakAmbassador
Never took notice of the Android version previously. Mine shows 12,API:31 as well.

You’re all so kind to continue beta testing this product for TELUS. It’s a bonus for them because you’re all paying to test their inferior product.
Sorry to see it’s still plagued with issues.
