Replacing Optik hardware

I will replacing my Optik hardware when it arrives next week.  Do I lose my existing PVR recordings when I do that?

  • I heard some Reddit users with Bell claiming they can swap disks and keep the recordings without Bell’s bother. Bell & Telus have exact the same legacy dvr.
  • What hardware are you replacing?
If you are on the older optik tv then I believe your recordings will be gone as they record to the boxes hard drive. If you have the new optik tv system with the android tv box then I believe all recordings are in the cloud so you would be able to access them on a new box.

Thank you. I'm on 6 year old hardware, so as I expected, they will likely be gone.

Have your boxes gone bad? Or are you upgrading to the new telus digital tv box?
