Pay as you go phone gives message "this phone does not have a plan" or

There are insufficient funds in the account" when you try to make a call.  There is plenty of money in the account. When you try to call the number it goes straight to voicemail.  This phone is set up on autotop up, has been for months, nothing has changed, what is the problem???  As usual help from and actual Telus employee is impossible to get...

    Hi there! After topping up your account, did you add a plan to activate the service? That message could be appearing because a plan hasn’t been added yet. If you still require assistance, send us a private message and we can have a look.

      That is what I had to do.  But I never had to do that before. For months, years even, it would just automatically top up when the balance was below the set amount.

        I cannotv make a calll  I get this message your current balance account is not enough to cover this call  eventhough \i topped it up
