    That would be up to the police.  Have you tried contacting the person you purchased it from to find out why it was reported either lost or stolen?  Are you sure they gave you their correct contact info?

  • You are going to have to file a police report then for fraud.  The person who sold you the device reported it lost or stolen to Telus, resulting in the blacklist.  Only. buy devices from reputable retailers and reputable websites.

        That would be up to the police.  Have you tried contacting the person you purchased it from to find out why it was reported either lost or stolen?  Are you sure they gave you their correct contact info? 

  • Do you have the seller's name or contact info? You could ask TELUS to contact the seller if indeed they were the legitimate owner and had an account. It's a long shot but without that you really have no recourse.

  • Unfortunately the issue may not be whether you purchased it legitimately, it's whether the seller was the actual owner. Even if the seller was the legitimate owner there's nothing preventing them from reporting it as stolen after the sale. They may do that to make a fraudulent insurance claim.

     

    That's the risk of buying phones privately instead of through a retailer.
