assistance
Am I the only one getting the run around on purchasing a cell phone outright? Been chasing for answers for over a week. no one can help. Chased place to place - finally got an automated reply from Telus - clicked on the link supplied. It doesn't work. Number supplied is for Mobility - basically square one.
Any suggestion on how I can purchase a cellphone outright on my retiree program and where to purchase - don't need or want payments
You can purchase a device at full cost from your local Telus store, Best Buy, Apple store, Samsung, or order one online from Amazon or another retailer. All you do is remove the SIM card from your current device and put it in your new device and it should work as long as the device you have purchased is compatible with the Telus network. You might have to put in the APN Settings for Telus manually, which isn't hard to do and are very easy to find.

You may want to get a new phone off of Amazon or other stores.

You did not indicate which retiree plan you were on.
This may be applicable to your situation.
Any retiree who joined the TWAR program prior to November 13, 2020 will still have access to their legacy plans. Similarly, any Community Ambassador who joined the program prior to November 13, 2020 will still have access to their legacy plan. However, these plans will no longer be available for rate plan changes or new activations, and the current device discount will no longer be available. This means that retirees can remain on the legacy plans, but if they choose to do so, they will no longer be eligible for device upgrades through financing effective November 13, 2020. Retirees who wish to remain on their legacy plan can do outright by visiting a TELUS retail location or online at telus.com.
