Power adapter issue on Telus TV Box
I have a couple of Telus TV Android boxes. One of them stopped working, just won't turn on. After googling I found the issue was likely the power cable. I tested it by swapping it for the power adapter on our other box and it works. Saw a reddit post that said you can arrange to have a new power adapter mailed out. got the telus 1gig pure fibre installed after 1 day all my devices wireless and wired via ethernet cable all have disconnection issues. did ping test in cmd, it says request timed out when internet is down. i am getting 4000 packet loss in games and straight up disconnected from calls. had technician swapping the entire modem and still didnt fix the issue. having a hard time living with this crappy internet, wondering if theres a solution to this.18Views0likes2CommentsMajor Packet Loss every 10-20 mins on Fibre.
I got fibre service in Ontario in February. Ever since then I've been getting fairly consistent lag spikes/packet loss multiple times per hour, approximately every 10-20 mins. It only lasts a few seconds each time. It happens on all devices connected including WiFi, Wired to the access point (Boost 6) and Wired directly to the NH20A. I've tried swapping the NH20A and the problem persists. It's not noticeable in regular browsing, but when gaming it's extremely noticeable. Telus offered me an internet upgrade. The agent I spoke to on the phone assured me that there would be no installation fee and FAQs state that installation for upgrade will not be charged. However, my service agreement states that I must pay a $200 installation fee and there is no mention about this fee being waived. My upgrade appointment is coming up. Booked an appointment for 8-9AM. Received all the texts and confirmed. I received a notice that my equipment needs to be updated or else they will disconnect. They are supposed to call 15-30 mins before arriving and I did not receive any calls. I am 9 months pregnant and this is extremely poor service. When I try to login into the My Telus app on my android phone it gives the error: LGN-301. I have cleared the cache, deleted the data and uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have also rebooted the phone. I called Telus support and the tech basically gave up. So randomly on the evening of Friday, September 05, 2025 at around 21:00 (9:00 PM), my telus.net e-mail with TELUS / Gmail stopped working. There were NO upgrades, NO software updates, NOTHING - it just stopped working. Here's the checks I made: Logged in via webpage - confirmed that e-mail not full and that password worked; Removed TELUS / Gmail account from Apple Mail app and reinstalled; Removed TELUS / Gmail account from various versions of Outlook (365, 2021, 2019 and 2016) and reinstalled; Checked connection on WiFi, Ethernet (PureFibre), 5G and 5G+ connections; Confirmed that all updates to Windows and iOS had been made and that none occurred on Friday, September 05; and Toggled the less secure apps feature on / off. With all of the above the e-mail DID NOT work, it will not connect or update. I called TELUS on Saturday, September 06, 2025 and asked for a callback. Forty minutes later (not the thirty minutes promised), I got a callback and was on the call with a technical person - Daniela - for over two hours. Guess what - it's still not working. I have a call back on Tuesday, September, 09 as they need some time to check out my ticket which is understandable. What's really frustrating is the following: The time on a phone call with no resolution; The assumption - ALWAYS - that's it's something with your devices and what you are doing. At least the troubleshooting I did (the above steps) proves everything had been tried; and The poor customer service - with TELUS (but also with Rogers as seen by family members) they are more than happy to talk to you when it's about adding services but when there are technical problems everyone goes running away. I got a new 4K Arris set top box to replace a defective one today. These 4K ARRIS boxes have the easy open (after removing 4 screws) hatch on the bottom, with a 1TB 2.5" Toshiba HD (MQ01 ABD110V) which easily disconnects and slides out. It looks like a bog standard SATA 6 data and power interface on this Toshiba 2.5 laptop HD. It is recognized by my USB-SATA adapter, but of course Windows says its an unknown disk and unknown format. .Can I replace the new Toshiba 1TB with the old one and possibly get my old recordings back? The current new box has been registered and cofigured to my TELUS account, so I don't want to try pluging in the old drive prematurely in case there's identifier or account data being read by the ARRIS box that will brick the new box.
