Most Anticipated

Luther: The Fallen Sun

After a long hiatus (just over four years!), one of my all time favourite detectives is back! Idris Elba returns as John Luther, the lovable (if not a bit rough around the edges) titular character in the brand new feature length movie Luther: The Fallen Sun. Set shortly after the events of the last season, Luther sits disgraced in prison, implicated in a crime he didn't commit. Now, a deranged serial killer is stalking the streets of London and Luther must break out to catch him. All the while, he's hunted by his own side...who is certain that him breaking out of prison only proves his guilt. We're definitely in for a wild ride with this one.

I'm a massive fan of the Luther series and this trailer definitely shows a ramp up in pace and action, which I cannot wait for. This is one of my favourite detective series of all time, with amazing plot twists and some beautifully shot scenes in London, so this is definitely on the top of my must-watch list. Elba has always portrayed Luther as the affable anti-hero, willing to get in anyone's way and push his boundaries as much as he can in order to do what is right. Obviously it means angering his coworkers and superiors along the way, but that just adds to the great tension. Be sure to check out the brand new feature length movie Luther: The Fallen Sun when it drops March 10!

What I'm Watching Now

We Have a Ghost

You're in for a treat with this movie that just dropped a few days ago. Based on the short story, We Have a Ghost is a fun comedy that is sure to have you and your family doubling over in laughter. Admittedly, I was first drawn to this when reading of the headlining cast as I'm a huge fan of both leads and happily, they don't disappoint. David Harbour (Stranger Things, Hellboy) is Ernest, an apparition that haunts a home recently bought by Frank, portrayed by Anthony Mackie (Marvel's Falcon/Capt. America).

When Frank and his son Kevin realize their home is haunted, they create a YouTube channel and make Ernest the ghost a viral sensation online. However, when Frank and Kevin decide to get to the bottom of exactly how Ernest died, they uncover a truth that puts them squarely in the targets of the CIA! They have to work together to reveal the truth, with some hilarity along the way.

My wife and I really enjoyed this movie! It had the perfect blend of comedy and horror (jump scares, anyone?) and rises above the common pitfall of these kinds of films by actually having a solid plot! Very well written, and when you find out what really happened to Ernest, it makes for a satisfying conclusion. As stated, it's also hilarious, with the two leads obviously stealing every scene they're in together. Be sure to check it out!
