Hope everyone's doing well as the new year keeps on rolling! If you're not aware, the Crave + Movies + HBO package on Optik TV is amazing, and it's the easiest way to check out all the new must-see HBO and Showtime series, amazing Crave originals, and of course the newest Hollywood blockbusters. While you wait for that next movie to drop, you can get caught up on the almost endless catalogue of classic HBO series like Billions, The Handmaid's Tale, and Game of Thrones. You can also watch everything via On Demand, online, and through the Crave app. How awesome is that?

Let's check out what great new stuff is headed our way in March, as well as what I'm currently watching!

Coming To Crave in March

  • March 3 - Star Trek: Picard (Season 2)
    • The highly anticipated second season of the sci-fi series starring Patrick Stewart.
  • March 3 - Our Flag Means Death (Season 1)
    • Taika Waititi led pirate comedy set in the 1700's.

Most Anticipated

Star Trek: Picard (Season 2)

It's been a long wait, but the second season of Star Trek: Picard is finally here! Fans worldwide have been waiting to get the release date for months and now we know, March 3 will see the return of our favourite Star Trek captain (we all know he's the best, come on now) and I couldn't be more excited. Picking up exactly where the first season left off, Jean-Luc Picard and his crew are trapped in the 21st century when reality is broken by the inter-dimensional villain Q (played again by the great John de Lancie). They must band together to solve Q's trial, return to their own time, and save the future of the galaxy. Should be a walk in the park for Picard!

The great intrigue and most of all fantastic acting is what sets this Star Trek series apart from the others currently airing. Don't get me wrong, I love Discovery but seeing the original STNG characters such as Riker and Guinan(!) and continuing their stories as well amps up the nostalgic factor for me. I personally love sci-fi stories that take place in extraordinary times and locations but that deal mostly with real feelings and problems we have today. The time travel aspect of Picard plays well into something that has haunted the character for a long time, that being his struggles with his own family, history, and legacy. Mix in some top-notch action and interplanetary travel, and you know you're in for something special. I look forward to seeing how Picard and his companions make it through when the first episode airs on Crave, Thursday, March 3. All 10 episodes will be dropping weekly through to the finale in May, so don't miss it!

What I'm Watching Now

Crave is full of amazing shows that you can catch up on, or be among the first to watch...here's what I'm hooked on now!

Peacemaker (Season 1)

This show is incredible! HBO Max's Peacemaker stars the always hilarious John Cena as Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker...the world's greatest (and funniest) mercenary. Set in the DCEU (Detective Comics Extended Universe) and the world of the global hit movie The Suicide Squad, this spin-off series explores the origins of the popular character and his quest for world peace. If you're like me and love your action fast-paced, your humor dark, and your comic book connections bountiful...you've come to the right place.

Being a comic book nerd my whole life, of course, I was eagerly anticipating this series and it definitely hasn't disappointed me thus far. The Suicide Squad director James Gunn brings a bloody good time, with plenty of laughs to boot. Cena is the perfect Peacemaker, the anti-hero you can't help but love despite how obnoxious he is. Make no mistake, you'll definitely want to at least check out the aforementioned 2021 movie to have some background coming into this show, though it's not mandatory. And be sure to save this one for when the kids are asleep...this thing is over-the-top with its violence and jokes. But come on, who doesn't want to blow up the world with a pet eagle in tow?

All 8 episodes of Peacemaker are streaming on Crave right now, and it's already been picked up for a second season! If you love big action and hilarious comic book laughs, you can't miss this!
