February is upon us! 2022 keeps on rolling, with the Super Bowl right around the corner, Valentine's Day in a few weeks...it's a busy time! Now that the new year is ramping up, streaming services are starting to drop the mic with big titles, and next month is no different. From the new Jack Reacher series Reacher to a bunch of new movies...it's never been a better time for Prime!

As you may know, Amazon Prime Video is now available as part of the Optik TV experience, and the Prime Video app is also on the Optik TV 4K media box as well. It's never been easier to sign up! There's always great new original content available, so let's take a look at what's headed our way!

Note: The latest 4K PVR is required to view Amazon Prime Video on Optik. For all account and viewing questions, see our page at www.telus.com/amazonprimefaq

Coming to Amazon Prime Video in February

February 4 - Reacher (Season 1)

  • Highly anticipated crime thriller based on the hit novel series.

February 18 - The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Season 4)

  • Hilarious 1950's dramedy about a housewife turned stand-up comic.

Most Anticipated

Reacher (Season 1)

This looks incredible. Based on the hit novels by Lee Child, Reacher tells the story of Jack Reacher, a retired military police officer who is arrested for a murder he didn't commit. Unjustly incarcerated, he finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy full of corrupt cops, shady businessmen, and politicians looking to further their own lives at the expense of anyone that stands in their way.

How awesome does that look? Yes, it's known that the movie based on the Reacher novels starred Tom Cruise, but this is Jack Reacher as he appears in the original story. Huge, imposing, take no prisoners. Alan Ritchson looks the part and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds as Reacher gets to the bottom of the conspiracy that has him locked up for life. This is definitely giving me a Jason Bourne vibe and I'm here for it. I'm a huge fan of these types of shows and it looks like Reacher is the next blockbuster. The first season (8 episodes) are streaming February 4 on Amazon Prime Video. Be sure to check it out!

Yellowstone

You're watching Yellowstone, right? You should be watching Yellowstone. It'd be easy for me to end this right there, but humor me. Are you a western fan? Do you like slow-burning stories that unfold with well-written characters and cliffhangers that make you scramble to watch the next episode? Welcome home.

Starring the always incredible Kevin Costner, Yellowstone tells the story of John Dutton. A widowed sixth-generation patriarch of the Dutton family who owns and largest contiguous ranch in the U.S. He and his family are put to the ultimate test by those seeking to take control of his land, their own shortcomings, and the actions of a few men that seek to take control of his property for their own personal agendas.

I've always loved the western genre, with its film noir aspects and intriguing storylines. This series is no different, and I'd put it right up there with other similar great series such as Justified or Deadwood in its storytelling and realistic portrayals of people that are just out to survive and do what's right...or at least what they think is right. Costner really shines as Dutton here, and the issues his children and family get into reach Breaking Bad levels of suspense. There's a lot at play here, not just the land but the survival of his family against seemingly never-ending forces out to put a stop to it all. I highly recommend kicking back with your favorite drink (old fashioned, anyone?) and giving this series a chance. I think you'll dig it.

We're currently in the midst of season 4 right now, and you can catch up with all episodes on Amazon Prime Video!
