upgrade
5 TopicsDelivery issues with online Mobility upgrade
I decided to upgrade my phone online as I was due for a new device in June, and the deal online was very good. There was no option to pick the device up in store, and I did not see any warning while placing my order that online orders are to be delivered during business hours ONLY. If I had known that, I never would have placed an online order as I work Mon-Fri I can't take time off of work. Ordered new phone on Tuesday, it was shipped Wednesday, FedEx attempted delivery Thursday & Friday during business hours- again, I did not realize they would only deliver during those times. On Friday, FedEx sent the phone back to Telus Calgary. Spoke to Telus customer service on Friday, she said once the phone is returned to the warehouse and processed the order will be cancelled and I can re-order the device/plan I originally chose, and select pick up in store. On Tuesday the phone was delivered back to Telus. The following Monday (June 8) I emailed telusorders for an update on the phone. Then I called customer service 1-866-488-2709. He said he was going to check with the warehouse on the status of the phone. He called back, said they haven’t inspected it yet for the return process. He said no I cannot order a phone online and pick it up in store. First 2 reps both told me I could. No control from Telus over courier delivery time & day. FedEx won’t let me change pickup point online on my end. He said to try contacting Telus again in 1-2 business days after the return team has inspected the phone. Wednesday June 10: over 48 hours since I emailed Telus order team, no response. Order still says “shipped” on order tracker. I need to return this phone by June 26th or pay the owing amount on my bring it back plan. Two business days later, there is no update, no email from the order team, and I am still without the phone I tried to upgrade to over two weeks ago. To say that I'm unimpressed, disappointed and frustrated as a customer of 7 years is a massive understatement.85Views0likes2CommentsBring fibre to North Lethbridge
North Lethbridge (uplands area to be specific but I think it effects blackwolf too) would love to switch to telus, but many of us are stuck with rogers even though they are 49% now bought out by an American company. We want to support western canada and Canadian companies in general and we crave a second option. How do we get Telus to upgrade their lines? as currently none of the gig options for home Internet are available.69Views0likes1CommentHow to set up new iPhone 17 on Telus
I hope to help someone runs into this scenario: buy an iPhone 17 from Apple and convert old Telus phone with physical SIM. This is the right process to migrate to the new phone, which I found after one very frustrating day: buy the new phone from Apple. go to Telus store and buy an e-SIM ($20+tax). start new phone and migrate the old phone to the new phone (wait for all the apps to be loaded). Now all is transferred, except the SIM/ phone number. Go to the MyTelus site and link the e-SIM to the account number for your phone, provide the SIM number (19 digits). This links the e-SIM to the phone number. This is the navigation path in MyTelus: Plans and Devices -> Select Subscriber -> Swap your SIM Card -> I want to transfer my number to a new physical SIM or an eSIM QR code voucher Go to the new phone and Add the eSIM (Settings -> Cellular), scan the 2D bar code on the eSIM card. Wait to be activated; you may need to restart the new phone. Wipe off the old phone. Some things to note: Apple store people minimize the complexity, cost and time in migrating from physical SIM to eSIM and pass responsibility to the carrier. iPhone 17 does not have physical SIM any more, iPhone 16 is the last iPhone in Canada to have physical SIMs. eSIMs cannot be transferred at Telus between phones. Having an eSIM on your old phone does not help. Makes no sense to convert the physical SIM to eSIM on your old phone. Procedure listed on Telus website to convert from physical SIM to eSIM doesn't work. Telus AI phone is a nightmare, ask to talk to a human and bypass AI. Chat is also borderline useless as you get bounced between incompetent and competent people, and they drop and pick up the chat randomly. Telus store people don't know the procedure, as they receive incomplete information, but at least they try.2.4KViews0likes1CommentUpgrading or Changing Your Smartphone
If you've recently upgraded or changed your smartphone, there are a number of things to be sure to do. We've got some resources below to help you with your new device. Ordering Online Most flagship devices are available for preorder the week before the official launch date. This is a great way to ensure you're getting the hottest new device from the convenience of your home. We all know though that the wait for that phone to arrive can be excruciating. To help, we recommend using our handy Online Order Tracking Tool to keep tabs on your order. We've even got info on how to use it over here! Swapping Your SIM If your previous phone used the same sized SIM as your new one, it's usually as easy as removing it and inserting the SIM into the new one. If you want to swap the SIM online, we've got a handy guide for that as well. If however, your new phone requires a different sized SIM or if you're a new TELUS client, you'll need to purchase one. We always suggest ordering one at the same time as your phone but if you forgot, you can easily order one online or pick one up at the nearest TELUS store. Transferring Content Check out our extensive guide for transferring data from your old phone to your new one. Protecting Your Device Now that your new phone is ready, let's talk about protecting it. An important first step in doing that is to consider a new phone case to protect your new smartphone. Not just an accessory, they can provide peace of mind with shock-absorbing features, waterproofing, and extra grip. Always a smart move. Purchasing an extended warranty is also a good choice, as manufacturer warranties only cover hardware failure. Device Care Complete and AppleCare+ extend the manufacturer's warranty up to 2 years and add protection against accidental damage. Hello, I currently have PureFibre 940 Mbps internet, and I am currently 3 months into my 2 year term with this service, which gives me $46 dollars off the regular price of $135. So currently I am paying $89 for the 940 Mbps service, which is the current advertised rate. I want to upgrade to the 1.5 Gbps service, but when I log into my account to upgrade it, I am only seeing the price listed as being $165/month, meaning I would lose the $46 discount I currently have. When I go to the main Telus internet sales page, they are advertising the 1.5 Gpbs plan as also having a $46 promotional savings, meaning new sign ups would get this for $119/month. Would Telus allow me to upgrade and keep my $46 promotional savings? Would this upgrade count as breaking my contract? I still want to honor the term I have, and am willing to start my term over again if that's what it takes.4.3KViews0likes2Comments
