Hey everyone! Hope you're doing well and enjoying the start of the fall season! October is here, and we're quickly approaching another Halloween season! As we get ready to don our costumes and make room for the cascade of bite-sized candy headed our way...there's always one thing I look forward to the most. Scary movies! I've always been a horror movie fanatic, from the classic 1978 masterpiece "Halloween" to newer classics like "It Follows" and "Weapons" (seriously...check both of those out asap). I love it all. Even better, did you know that Optik TV On Demand has its very own Halloween themed section called "Trick or Treat"? Well, it does and let me tell you...it's awesome. From classic slasher flicks to modern horror masterpieces, there's something for everyone. There's even more family friendly choices for those with little ones, so no worries there. You can even check out some Halloween themed scenes for free...perfect for leaving on in the background during that fantastic party you're hosting. In celebration of this great time of year, allow me to recommend a few movies for you to check out both with the kids, and once they've gone to sleep and you're (gasp!) left all alone in the dark of night. If you're not already dozing off after that 19th mini Snickers bar. We've all been there. No regrets. Thrills and Chills Where to begin? Our On Demand 'Trick or Treat' section has a ton of great horror movies to choose from. From classics like The Shining, Se7en, The Craft, and The Blair Witch Project to newer classics like Halloween Ends or the stellar The Black Phone, there's something for all tastes. Whether you're looking for pure horror or something with a funny twist (Beetlejuice, anyone?) we've got you covered. Here's a few I recommend: Weapons - Easily my favourite horror movie of 2025. In a sleepy town, seventeen children from a third grade class suddenly wake up and run from their homes at 2:17am, disappearing into the night. A father and the class teacher must uncover the mystery and find the missing children. Dark, unsettling, and suspenseful. Terrific movie. Longlegs - In the same vein as thriller classics 'Se7en' and 'The Silence of The Lambs', the amazing 'Longlegs' stars Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage. An FBI agent is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes an unexpected turn, revealing evidence of the occult. One of my favorite movies; an instant thriller classic. Bring Her Back - A dark Australian horror film, Bring Her Back follows two half-siblings who find themselves orphaned and inadvertently placed into an occult ritual by their new foster mother. This really gets the nerves rattled, with some sinister themes and a terrific young cast. Highly recommended. Family Frights Looking for something with that Halloween touch without giving the kids nightmares for weeks? We've got your back. Here are some great family oriented Halloween movies that you're sure to love as well! Ghostbusters - Who ya gonna call? The cultural hit from the 1980's that spawned an empire of video games, toys, and no less than four subsequent movies, that's who! A hilariously haunted time awaits you and your kids (a few jump scares and ghosts, but nothing too bad!) so this is always a can't-miss to check out during the Halloween season! The Nightmare Before Christmas - Tim Burton's stop-motion classic is a great time for the family! Jack Skellington, Halloween Town's "Pumpkin King" stumbles onto Christmas Town and schemes to take it over. Featuring delightful sing-alongs and classic characters, it's a surefire hit! The Monster Squad - A fun horror movie from the mid-80's that is now a cult classic, The Monster Squad is a group of scary movie loving teenagers that must band together when a group of classic horror villains come to life! A brave group of kids with no fear vs. Dracula, The Wolf Man, and Frankenstein's Monster? Sounds like a blast to me! There's all this and more! You can rent or even purchase brand new movies (even in 4K HDR!) to own. So kick back, bust out some of that awesome candy your kids scored (other than candy corn because, well...come on) and have a Happy Halloween!

Ce que je regarde en ce moment Les Osbourne - Prime Video Qui n'aime pas le Prince des Ténèbres? Tous les métalleux comme moi doivent tout à Ozzy et ressentent énormément sa perte. Quelle meilleure façon de passer un peu de temps en revisitant sans doute la toute première série de télé-réalité... Les Osbournes! Au début des années 2000, MTV a été autorisé à vivre à l'intérieur de la maison d'Ozzy et à le suivre, lui et sa famille, pendant quelques années et les résultats sont à la fois réconfortants et hilarants. C'est un bon moment de suivre Ozzy, Sharon, Jack et Kelly pour voir comment une famille parfois dysfonctionnelle traverse la vie quotidienne. Cela peut être difficile lorsque le père est une rockstar légendaire dans le monde entier, mais ils s'en sortent. Ma partie préférée de cette série est bien sûr Ozzy lui-même, mais plus encore de le voir affronter les problèmes d'un père comme moi. Chasser le chat dehors alors qu'il s'enfuit presque, faire face à un aspirateur bruyant qui l'empêche de regarder ses films de guerre à la télévision. Hey everyone! Hope you're doing well and enjoying the end of summer! September is right around the corner, and another month means another new batch of great movies and shows to check out on Optik TV! Let's take a look at some of the highly anticipated titles streaming in September as well as what I'm hooked on now! Coming in September September 2 - Wednesday (Season 2 - Part 2) - Netflix The final half of episodes in the second season of the Netflix hit about spooky Wednesday Addams. September 18 - Black Rabbit - Netflix Highly anticipated thriller series about a New York restaurateur forced into NYC's criminal underworld by his brother. Starring Jude Law and Justin Bateman. Most Anticipated Black Rabbit This limited series starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman looks fantastic. I definitely get the vibe of Ozark meets Breaking Bad meets The Bear. Jude Law is the owner of a hot new New York restaurant and VIP club who's seemingly working his way to the top. Everything however is threatened when his troubled brother (Jason Bateman) returns, bringing danger with him and forcing the brothers into a harrowing life or death situation. This 8 episode thriller is definitely the type of series that I binge through. With these two stars in the leading roles, and Bateman himself directing along with greats such as Ben Semanoff (Ozark, Yellowjackets) you know it's going to be pulse pounding stuff. I'm a huge fan of stories with troubled characters you still root for, dealing with things that are spiraling out of control with every step they take. It makes for some great cliffhangers and must-watch entertainment. Look for all the episodes of Black Rabbit on September 18, only on Netflix! What I'm Watching Now The Osbournes - Prime Video Who doesn't love the Prince of Darkness? Any metalheads such as myself owe everything to Ozzy and feel his loss immensely. What better way to spend some time by revisiting arguably the first reality TV series ever... The Osbournes! In the early 2000's, MTV was allowed to basically live inside Ozzy's house and follow him and his family around for a few years and the results are both heartwarming and hilarious. It's great times following Ozzy, Sharon, Jack, and Kelly around to see just how a sometimes dysfunctional family makes it through everyday life. It can be difficult when the father is a worldwide legendary rockstar, but they figure it out. My favourite part of this series is of course Ozzy himself, but more so watching him deal with the issues of a father just like myself. Chasing the cat outside when it almost runs away, to dealing with a loud vacuum getting in the way of him watching his war movies on TV.
