Hello, I am trying to port my ( Home Phone / Landline ) number from Rogers with Shaw over to TELUS and have some questions below that I am hoping to receive responses for so I can understand my situation and options moving forward. How long does a porting request for home phones / landlines take? Is it possible to have the porting request process sped up? Is it safe to cancel my Rogers with Shaw ( Home Phone / Landline ) plan once TELUS submits the porting request and the request is pending/in progress or do I have to wait until the TELUS porting request is fully completed? Currently a Telus customer for both home phone and broadband. Being mugged with the pricing as have very poor internet and the allowance is so low it is pointless for anything modern, perhaps sufficient for email and costs my $100+/m. Am out of contract so looking at the other supplier in the building, but before I cancel, have 3 questions: -is the landline necessary at all or can phone be used over fibre. If it can, can I cancel my home phone (landline) and will my number be the same? -do I need a different digital telephone or an adaptor and can use the existing phone? -what happens if the broadband is down?99Views0likes3Comments
