165 TopicsPossible to Halt Billing After 2 Year Contract?
Hey, so I am under a 2 year contract for my wifi. I want to close my account immediately once the 2 year contract is done because Telus is trying to open an AI data centre in my city. I don't want my money going to them anymore but can't afford the contract closure fee. Has anyone does this before or should I just call near the completion of the contract? Thank you!18Views0likes1CommentIs T3200M compatible with Wifi Boost 7 (v3.0)?
I currently use the Actiontec T3200M connected directly to the fibre receptacle on the wall (I live in an apartment that is pre-wired for fibre). I recently upgraded to PureFibre Gigabit. The CSR stated that I did not need to upgrade the T3200M. The CSR also sent the new Wifi Boost 7. Following the instructions here: (https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/troubleshoot-your-telus-boost-wi-fi-7?INTCMP=Tcom-support_results-hub_wi-fi-boosters_troubleshoot-your-telus-boost-wi-fi-7), I have connected the boost 7 to one of the yellow network ports on the T3200M. The ethernet ports on both sides blink green. The boost 7's power LED first blinks white and after a few minutes turns green. The T3200M configuration page shows the Boost 7 as a connected device. I can connect devices via wifi to the boost. However, I can't get internet access to work when connected. Instead, I get a "No Internet access" error. I have tried the following: Power cycled both devices. Factory reset both. Disabled wifi on the T3200M. Enabled port bridging on the T3200M. Installed the Telus Connect App. None of the above have worked. So can someone authoritatively state whether or not the T3200M even works with the boost 7?Solved165Views0likes9CommentsMultiple Telus Wifi Boost 7 setup
I got upgraded to new Telus setup with NAH and Wifi Boost 7 booster. Everything is working great except that my 2nd Wifi boost 7 wont work. Its connecting fine and forms a mesh network with the Primary but none of my wireless devices will connect to it. I have tried multiple ways of connecting: Primary-boost and Secondary-boost connected to NAH. Both boost-7 are green and show excellent connectivity and zero issues. Primary-boost connected to NAH and Secondary-boost connected to Primary-boost 2.5G port. Both are green and show excellent connectivity and zero issues. However, none of my laptops, phones, tablets, other IOT devices will connect to the secondary-boost. I called Telus and this is what i am told Telus has upgraded their systems which does not allow them to add a 2nd boost-7 devices for their customers anymore. so if the customer has 2x Telus-Wifi-Boost-7 and even if they form a mesh network and are green, the 2nd one wont work. Customers are now being pushed to use Telus Wifi Plus to get better coverage and pay $10/month for that service. Very disappointed in this. See screenshot of my connectivity below.231Views0likes7CommentsCGNAT Removal and Public IP Address Assignment, Is This Still Possible?
Hello and Happy New Year. I recently moved and am now managing my own TELUS Fibre connection directly. I am trying to resume hosting small game servers and other self-hosted services that require inbound IPv4 access. I have the Technicolor NH20T Network Hub installed and have configured IPv4 port forwarding and firewall rules correctly. However my WAN IPv4 address is 100.84.x.x which appears to indicate CGNAT. As expected inbound IPv4 connections cannot reach my network. I have contacted TELUS multiple times. One representative confirmed this would require backend provisioning changes and issued a reference number. I later received automated issue resolved messages but no change was applied. A follow-up representative suggested upgrading to a business plan. I clarified that I do not need a static IP or special IPv6 features only a public non-CGNAT IPv4 address. That ticket has now been escalated again to backend provisioning. My questions are as follows. In 2026 can residential TELUS Fibre customers still be assigned a public IPv4 address to allow inbound IPv4 services and port forwarding, or is a business plan now required? If CGNAT removal is not available on residential accounts is there any supported residential option remaining? I understand that bridge mode or third-party routers do not bypass CGNAT as this is a WAN provisioning issue. Older threads exist on this topic but many are several months old so I am looking for updated information. Thank you in advance.Solved603Views0likes11CommentsUsing a Boost W-Fi 6 as a wireless booster
Hello, I have a new Boost 7 that is connected to the NAH via Ethernet. I am wondering if it is possible to use a Boost 6 as a wireless booster in the basement without needing to connect it to the NAH? If so how do I go about setting this up? Thanks,138Views0likes4Commentsottawa purefibre and ipv6
Hello, I am in Ottawa and am thinking of getting purefibre. Right now with Bell, I have a public ipv4 address and no ipv6. Am I correct in assuming that purefibre include cgnat and ipv6 with a PD of /56? Also, if I want a public ipv4, is this possible? Hi TELUS, I believe I am experiencing a routing/peering issue on my connection. My local network is stable, but latency to many servers including game servers is higher than what other TELUS users report. Across multiple users on the same ISP I see two routing outcomes: Some users get: ~18 ms Seattle ~33 ms Chicago Others including me get: ~1 ms Edmonton ~5–7 ms Calgary ~56 ms Seattle ~57 ms Chicago ~75 ms Los Angeles ~78 ms Dallas I confirmed this with 2 users on each path, suggesting this may be due to IP pools or upstream routing differences. Using a VPN reduces Seattle latency to ~18 ms, matching the lower latency users. The VPN routes through Zayo, suggesting a better path exists but is not used by default. Traceroutes show TELUS is stable (~1–26 ms), but latency increases by ~30 ms at a Seattle transit hop (e.g. NTT). I have tried basic troubleshooting (rebooting router) with no change. Setup: TELUS fibre, wired Ethernet, TELUS NAT Testing: in-game latency, ping, traceroute Seattle, WA (128.116.115.0/24) → ~56 ms Los Angeles, CA (128.116.116.0/24) → ~75 ms Chicago, IL (128.116.48.0/24, 128.116.84.0/24) → ~56 ms Dallas, TX (128.116.95.0/24) → ~78 ms Ashburn, VA (128.116.102.0/24) → ~74 ms Location: Edmonton, Alberta Here are some images of Traceroutes.74Views0likes1CommentI cannot connect to stockhouse.com
I have cleared cache, deleted browser data, restarted the router and my laptop, flushed my dns however cannot connect to stockhouse.com when on my home network from any device (telephone, tablet, laptop, desktop pc). However when I disable my wifi and use my cell data it connects. Also when I am on a different provider (Rogers) at the coffee shop no problem. Please advise what might be the problem.Solved384Views0likes13CommentsMoved within city - Crazy ping difference
Wondering if anyone else has dealt with this. I recently moved within Edmonton and my average ping to pretty much every game server went up about 40-70ms across the board (Seattle, NYC, etc.). I'm on PureFibre, hardwired in. Testing alongside a friend still at near old address, we take completely different routes to the same servers. My traffic now seems to bounce around inefficiently before actually making its way out. I have traceroutes from both locations showing the paths diverge immediately. I tested ExitLag as a troubleshooting step, and it recovered about 50ms, which seems to confirm the issue is in Telus's routing rather than anything on my end. Has anyone had any luck getting Telus to look into a routing issue like this?81Views0likes2CommentsTelus IP address blocked due to AUP violation on SMTP client.
Hi, I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue where a residential family member using Telus Internet can't seem to send smtp emails through Thunderbird on a Windows PC. The user has a Shaw.ca address and can receive emails, but recently started getting the following error when sending mail: I checked the IP address and it shows on Spamhaus's PBL. The SMTP mail settings show he's using STARTLS auth with a username/password and I don't see any compromise of the PC. I suspect there's an IP in that range that was actually compromised as shows on SpamHaus: "66.222.208.0/20 is listed on the Policy Block List (PBL)" Is there a way to get Telus to get this Ip off the list, or is there a way to get a new IP address? The DHCP release on the router and shutting off for 10+ hours didn't work. Thanks.152Views0likes8Comments
