installation
33 TopicsInstallation and Wi-Fi Plus and TV
Hi All, I am not a Telus customer yet but am considering switching from Bell Fibe to PureFibre 1.5 with Wi-Fi Plus. The sales folks were not able to answer all of my questions. With Bell, fibre enters my house in the basement where the router is located and I have an ethernet cable run to a Bell Wi-Fi extender on the first floor. The extender has a TV "base station" connected to it by ethernet to support the wireless Fibe TV box on the first floor. There is another Bell Wi-Fi extender on the second floor. Would a Telus installation follow the same layout? If not, what would a Telus installation look like? Bonus question: The sales rep told me that channels in the 38 "core" TV channels can be swapped out. I can't see anything in writing and have my doubts. Can anyone confirm or deny? Thanks in advance.Solved57Views0likes2CommentsMy technician no-showed to my appointment
I had a scheduled appointment for Saturday, April 11 from 8am - 9am. I was told multiple times via text that I will receive a call 15-30 minutes before arrival. However, no one has called and I am in desperate need of my internet being connected. This is absolutely unacceptable, as I have been living in my new apartment for over 2 weeks, and this was the first available appointment I could get. I require Wifi to connect to my TV, amazon alexa, and to complete my work! I have a dog who I leave at home during the day, and without Wifi I am unable to connect to my alexa to check on her and have the tv on for her to have background noise. When should I receive a phone call regarding my appointment or what can I do now?65Views0likes1CommentCan't log in to Telus Connect app

Hi Everyone, I just bought a home in Caglary's historic Inglewood community. Imagine my surprise when the Telus guy who showed up to install my internet told me there was no fibre-optic available. He couldn't tell me when or if it would ever be available. This is an outrage. I have had fibre-optic in my previous home for about 8 years. Telus should be actively advising communities when they can expect to have fibre in their neighbourhoods. In the mean time, what can I do to optimize my internet/wifi in my home?26Views0likes0CommentsReturn Your TELUS Equipment in 3 Easy Steps

I'm looking at having a home built in Inglewood, and want to have fiber internet service, but it doesn't look like Telus fiber services are available there. Where to I go to find out about Telus services roll out schedule for neighborhoods not currently serviced? Is there a schedule for Inglewood? My timeline for installation would be about two years from now.62Views0likes1CommentNew PVR not recording?
My new PVR (a replacement) install went well BUT when I try to record a program it gives me the error message PVR is offline. Reboot of the PVR and modem did not solve this. Removing the power and restarting both devices did not solve this. Thoughts appreciated. Thanks102Views0likes4CommentsHow to deal with outside broken wires and very simple people working for telus?
Had a technician install new telus internet at the beginning of december. Technician had run to and fro between the house and the street pedestal, and determined that the wiring up on the electrical poles was broken somewhere. Two and half months later, another technician technician came, drove to and fro between the house and the street pedestal (is is more than 100m), climbed few poles, and determined that the wires between the house and the telus street box are broken. I asked him to wire in the modem anyway, so when next technician comes with a spool of wire, they do not have to enter the house, all they need is to run the wire between the box on the outside wall and their street pedestal. Astonishingly, I received a message that the service is now up. Tried to communicate with their AI assistant, asking for live agent. AI assistant failed. Got an email, supposedly from live person, who suggested that I unplug and plug in the modem. Did the movie "Idiocracy", https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/ get its inspiration from how telus functions? Anybody here has an email for someone high up on the telus chain of command who understand the phrase "wires are broken" and can do something about it?132Views0likes4CommentsIssue with NH20A bridge mode
Hey there, I’m a newbie when it comes to networking. I have an issue trying to bridge the NH20A to my ubiquiti cloud gateway fibre. I have 1.5G fibre. I’ve tried everything I can think of and from research I’ve done and still can’t get it to connect. I’ve tried all ports bridged, port 1, 10g port. Factory resetting the NH20A and for whatever reason it will not provide internet to the ucg fibre. I’ve tried configuring the ucg to pppoe with all the accurate credentials and vlan 40 tags. I can get it to connect in a double NAH set up but the internet speed is abysmal. Only 0.1mbs. I’ve tried changing the ip addresses. Any further guidance or any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! thanks!262Views0likes1Comment
