Hello and Happy New Year. I recently moved and am now managing my own TELUS Fibre connection directly. I am trying to resume hosting small game servers and other self-hosted services that require inbound IPv4 access. I have the Technicolor NH20T Network Hub installed and have configured IPv4 port forwarding and firewall rules correctly. However my WAN IPv4 address is 100.84.x.x which appears to indicate CGNAT. As expected inbound IPv4 connections cannot reach my network. I have contacted TELUS multiple times. One representative confirmed this would require backend provisioning changes and issued a reference number. I later received automated issue resolved messages but no change was applied. A follow-up representative suggested upgrading to a business plan. I clarified that I do not need a static IP or special IPv6 features only a public non-CGNAT IPv4 address. That ticket has now been escalated again to backend provisioning. My questions are as follows. In 2026 can residential TELUS Fibre customers still be assigned a public IPv4 address to allow inbound IPv4 services and port forwarding, or is a business plan now required? If CGNAT removal is not available on residential accounts is there any supported residential option remaining? I understand that bridge mode or third-party routers do not bypass CGNAT as this is a WAN provisioning issue. Anyone having issues with profiles not holding when selected on TELUSTV-21T Android Optik TV+ I have a Main profile and one additional. When I turn off box or it goes to sleep and was last viewing on Main it defaults to the second profile when reactivated. It used to hold the last viewed profile. Now in order to get it to accept Main you have to select the other profile then go back to Home and toggle to Settings then reselect Main which is a pain.113Views0likes7CommentsPurefibre Migration experience
Yesterday, May 20, 2026 a technician came. He just had to finish the installation for the TV that was included with our mandatory migration to fibre. He arrived two hour and 30 minutes later. He decided that he had to improve our installation: we just asked to finish what he had to do with the TV. He wanted to try more and to fix something chatting with an agent on his phone. In the end he messed up completely with our landline agreements removing few important features we had. His job with the TV was just 20 minutes long to say the most and he told me “oh you can call the loyalty department they will fix all the things that have been taken away from your plan. “ When he left was 3 hours later. In total we waited 5 hours for a job of 20 minutes. This morning, I called Telus at the loyalty department, spent one hour on the phone and ended up with paying at least 20 $ more per month because the agent told me he couldn’t fix what was done yesterday by that agent on our agreements and eventually adding to our plans “almost” what we had before but at an higher cost. Frustration and more frustration for something that could have been easily solved and at no extra costs. 😟 How can we go back to our previous agreements? I tried in vane to set up my home voice mail on my acct but was unable to despite standing on my head and giving up my first born. Nothing worked with the online tutorials so I went to the phone call option. I was connected very quickly but I now know that it was more of a sales call than support call. She verified that I had home phone, duh, and said she would help me to get it set up. From that point on she went into sales mode. I do not use Telus mobility because it does not serve Sproat Lake, port alberni. She proceeded to check my home address (not at the lake ) and she confirmed that Telus mobility works at my house, duh. She then checked the lake address I gave and confirmed that telus provides service at the lake. This is not true, I work as a home care RN and we repeatedly have to either drive for service or use their home phone. She argued with me, argue that I was wrong. I told her that I was not switching to Telus mobility and then she proceeded to argue further about how easy the switch was etc. I mentioned that I had phoned for support with my home voicemail and she continued to argue. I told her I would find the support myself. I went on to the Telus site again and found that I don't in fact have voicemail. Why could she not have told me that??? I am on home phone lite. you only get one feature and my feature is call display which I am not going to change with all the spam. I pay $210 for my service and can't even get voicemail. I closed my TELUS account in May 2024 and received a final email confirming that my account balance was $0. Now, almost 2 years later, I received: an email from TELUS saying I have a bill credit due to an overpayment on my home services account, and an email from ACRM Collections claiming I owe money to TELUS. I’m confused about how I can both owe money and have a credit at the same time. What should I do in this situation? Would it make sense to email ARM a screenshot of the TELUS overpayment notice and my final $0 balance email to dispute the debt? The Telus Connect App will not connect to my router to control wifi devices. This is a must have if you have little people in your house. I can see by other threads that this has been talked about for over a year... can anyone enlighten me to a fix other than accessing the router through a DNS number? Canceled/deleted account more than a month ago, fully paid off, and had a new bill of .. idk i forgot, but had a rep here help me and fixed it, and had a credit(YAY) but then THAT was deleted ... idk why.. and now today (may 13th) I get a NEW bill for 100-105 for unreturned equipment(after being told not to worry about it) so... I would like(ONCE AGAIN) to get this cleared up, and navigating the help from the main site is a nightmare I rather not deal with again(and to be honest, am getting really tired of having to deal with telus over this) The account holder is deceased and I already paid off her bill 3 times with you guys and u keep sending NEW bills, even with service being disabled, no hardware is left(All returned already before we even got to the home) and this is just a new bit of nightmare stacked ontop of all this. Really hope Telus isn't so hard up they keep harassing the dead's estate for nickle and dimes. Our PVR has again stopped recording these scheduled series even though they are set up correctly. They are set up to record First run only and I have verified that even first run are not being recorded. Recently this happened and I deleted all scheduled recordings and then it started working again. Now, a couple of months later they have stopped recording again. I have re-booted / re-set many times. I have cleared cache, deleted browser data, restarted the router and my laptop, flushed my dns however cannot connect to stockhouse.com when on my home network from any device (telephone, tablet, laptop, desktop pc). However when I disable my wifi and use my cell data it connects. Also when I am on a different provider (Rogers) at the coffee shop no problem.
