5 TopicsCollection Notice Multiple Account Number (still an active customer with no due)
Received collection Notice for Home Security - Telus Account was incorrect / multiple account generated by mistake at the beginning of service inception. ==== What I believe happened When my account was being created in 2023, apparently Telus "incorrectly" setup 2 accounts - Lets say Account #A and Account #B. They later told account #A has been removed (because it should not have existed at all). I got a new contract / agreement, which correctly says single account #B (which is still my current active account, no balance due) the initial term was for 3 years, which ended in Jan 2026. In Jan 2026 , I happily extended my services with Telus, under Account #B. However ever since Feb or March I guess, I started getting calls from Collections - General Credit Services and emails from Resolve Financial, stating my details are sent for collections and I should immediately pay 330 $ or I will face legal charges. Honestly I ignored the initial calls thinking they are scam / fraudsters, but at some point someone gave me the account number #A as reference on May end. Now after finally being able to connect to a real agent, who was able to try to track down the details - she said that this was by ERROR and things are informed to the back office team and that this should be corrected and that my account will be removed from the collection agency list and things like that. I want someone to look at the details and contact me from Telus - to double triple check and confirm. Also I want this to be a learning for anyone who ends up with 2 contract / account numbers - purely due to an error from Telus side.27Views0likes1CommentDouble Charged
I was double charged, I think because I didn’t realize I have automatic payments set up and manually paid the bill myself as well. The second transaction appears on my bank balance but doesn’t reflect anywhere on the Telus app. I’m not sure where to see where this second payment went on the app or how to know if it will be applied as credit for my next billing period. I’ve tried using the virtual assistant but it is unable to tell me if I have credit on my account.Solved63Views0likes1CommentTELUS sent a 2018 bill to collections with zero notice for 8 years
I received a Debt Collection Notice email yesterday saying I owe TELUS Wireline $73.84 ($65.10 principal + $8.74 interest). The problem is, I’ve never heard about this before. I never got a single email, phone call, or letter from TELUS. I called the collection agency, and they said it’s for an unpaid bill from 2018, which is honestly ridiculous. It’s been 8 years, and this is the first notice I’ve ever received? Not even one reminder from TELUS? Because it’s been so long, I can’t even find any old payment records. They also told me the interest keeps increasing daily unless I pay now. I’m really angry and disappointed that something this old is suddenly sent to collections with no prior contact.115Views0likes1CommentManaging Third-Party Application Purchases
Third-party vendors can charge applications and web services directly to your TELUS invoice instead of requiring credit card payment. These charges appear as application purchases on your bill. How Third-Party Billing Works Vendors offer pay-per-use applications and web-based services like mobile dating or social networking sites. When you download or subscribe through their platform, charges apply to your TELUS account automatically. This eliminates the need for separate credit card or PayPal transactions. Disputing Unauthorized Charges Contact the vendor directly if you see charges for services you didn't subscribe to. The vendor must resolve billing disputes for their services. If you don't recognize the vendor name on your bill, contact TELUS support to identify which company charged your account. TELUS can provide vendor contact information but cannot remove third-party charges without vendor authorization. Prevent Future In-App Purchases iPhone (App Store) Open Settings Tap General Scroll down and tap Restrictions Tap Enable Restrictions Create a passcode when prompted Under Allowed Content, turn off the In-App Purchases slider All in-app purchases now require your passcode. Android (Google Play) Open the Google Play Store app Tap Menu Select Settings Scroll to User Controls Check the box next to "Use password to restrict purchases" Enter your Google password to confirm All in-app purchases now require your Google account password. When to Contact TELUS Contact TELUS if you need help identifying an unknown vendor on your bill or if a vendor refuses to remove fraudulent charges after you've disputed them directly. TELUS can provide vendor contact details and escalate unresolved billing disputes, but the vendor must authorize any charge removals for their services.
