Hey everyone, we're making some upgrades to the way you access your Pik TV services through the app and your browser. The biggest change you'll notice is that Flash is no longer required to access Pik TV through your browser along with several other upgrades for an even better experience.
During the upgrade you may experience disruption when accessing Pik TV through your app or browser from Nov. 10 to Nov. 20, however any disruption will be temporary. To minimize disruption and give you the best viewing experience, please ensure that automatic updates have been turned on in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
For further information on this upgrade, please visit our help section.

Hi @whitewater
For accessibility, the browser version includes closed captioning (CC) and described video (AD) where available. Please note that TELUS has no control over the availability of CC or AD - this is up to the individual content providers. To access these settings, click anywhere on the screen to open up the progress bar at the bottom of the screen. Then click the up arrow (^) in the bottom right hand corner to open up the option to enable CC or AD.
I'm not familiar with screen readers, but maybe this is a compatibility issue with Flash vs. HTML5? Unfortunately Flash is end of life on Dec. 31 2020 and has been slowly disabled by different browsers ahead of this deadline. Have you tried Chrome or Safari?

Hi
Finally a move n the right direction. My question is why I still can't install Pik TV on my Sony Android TV?. Please Telus embrace the future. Look at Fibe TV from Bells, a well polished app that can be installed on any Android device with no restrictions since many many years. You a lot to catch up with.

I agree. UI in my Sony seems to be much more responsive compared to Telus Media Box (that's sluggish even on the new version of the app). I don't really want to spend $$$ on Shield or Apple TV. Can we expect some decisions regarding ability to use the PikTV on Android TV anytime soon?

Hi. When can we expect PIK tv to be available on an android tv such as Sony?

Hi, Is there any accessibility options included with the new PikTv browser upgrade? I use a screenreader & edge when accessing the website. The reason I asked is I'm unable to make any channels play whatever I do. I press enter on any of the live channels or one in the guide and that doesn't work either. Thank you for any help you can give.

Hi KHR, I use windows10 with edge & tried all the other browsers also like chrome & others.
I use the built-in narrator that comes with windows10 & two others also jaws & nvda. Being I have no sight it reads all the text on the monitor screen, I can click all the links & click the different icons too.
I know most don't know about software for the blind, it would sure be nice if the blind could use PikTv on windows too.
Other than that everything I use on telus works very well.
Thank you for everything you do!

I could not agree, Telus cannot get this right. Since the recent updates it is unwatchable.

Have you checked to make sure it is the most recent version of the App?

Hi @heidiej21
I think this problem is related to a bug with Apple's Zero Sign On. The workaround right now, if prompted for your TV provider during the reset/install process, is to select ‘Do not allow’.
If your Apple TV is already set up and you're having trouble with the Pik TV app, go to the Apple TV Home Screen, then navigate to Settings -> Users and Accounts -> Apple TV Accounts -> TV Provider -> Sign Out

I tried this step and nothing changed with my Pik TV. I am experiencing the same problem as hediej21, I am getting frustrated and I feel like dropping Pik TV from my plan.

Hi KHR, also didn't work for me. App was setup before. Clearing info didn't help. App loads but just spins.

I have an apple tv 4k now, but previously had a telus android tv box. I found whenever the box stopped operating correctly if I reset the box it would work perfectly again. I would recommend that if you are having trouble with your android tv box now.

Contact Telus directly about the issue. You may need a replacement device.
