Pik TV service using Apple TV box

Hi,

Just want to ask if you encounter a trouble with a Pik TV service using an Apple TV box. Client says it keeps on encountering an error that says..."maximum sessions exceeded...". Only one box in the house. What's the root cause of this and any workaround on this? Thanks.

Is the client, or family members using PikTV on other devices? If not logged out of those, the maximum sessions exceeded can occur.

I have an issue with this as well. Telus says you can watch up to two streams at on PIK TV. Therefore you must be able to be logged in to two devices at once. I am having more and more frequent issues with this error. I am logged into Apple TV and one iPad. Apple ID makes it so you log into your TV provider through your account and it goes across your devices. It’s a huge PITA to log out every time.

2 yrs and never an issue. What changed?

Hi @Mom2Boys

Please see my answer here. You have always been able to (and should still be able to) stream concurrently on 2 devices with Pik TV (with the exception of the Pik TV box - which is limited to 1 per account). This 2 stream max is a requirement from our content providers, unfortunately. The only thing that may have changed is an update from our TV platform provider that fixed a stream counting defect. 2 streams should still work - if the instructions at the link above don't work, please let me know.
