Android 8?

What version of Android is this running? Are there plans to upgrade it to 8 like the Nexus Player is?

Currently Android TV version 6.0.1 and Telus future plans for updates to the device are unknown to residents of the Neighbourhood. If I recall, the PikTV device is available for $25, just now, so not a great expense even if it does not fully meet your needs for the future.
