Hello
Today i took off work and waited for my Telus install between 8-9am. THEY DID NOT SHOW UP. When i called they...
1)after ten minutes on hold said they tried to contact me to cancel because of weather( BUT LIED Because nobody called my TELUS phone!!) and its a nice day outside.
2)then after ten more minutes on hold came back and said it was a safety issue....
3)then after ten MORE minutes on Hold came back and said they Cap installs at $2000 and would have to escalate the "Case" to see if they will pay $3500 to install.....
All summer Telus Blocked the Road installing OPTIC cables. They came to the House around JULY and my wife signed a document to allow them to run a "box" to the house. They never Did. On the 13th of December i looked outside and some guy was standing in my yard Unannounced. I went to the door and he explained he was from Telus and would be installing a line from the road (that day or the next). He left shortly after and never returned.
Today i awaited the installer and was texted SEVERAL TIMES to Verify i would be HOME to perform Optic INSTALL....
NOBODY SHOWED UP.
MY QUESTIONS ARE:
1)Why didn't they install the LINE in the summer when they had a crew with bucket trucks stringing optic line 15km down the road???(Roadblocking me 2-3times a day) I gave permission!!
2)If the installer who showed up on the 13th couldn't do his job WHY couldn't they contact me between Then and NOW????
3)My neighbours all have Optic installed and are no further from the road or difficult to install (most are further from the road and i live in the CITY limits)
4)Is it good business practice to LIE to your customer and tell them you tried to call them when they've taken time off work and verified there appointment Via Telus Text Messages!!???
Very Unprofessional. Social Media loves this kinda stuff. maybe the court of Public Opinion should come to session?

My father is in an area where aerial fibre was run. He didn't have a fibre optic line run from the pole to the house until he signed up for fibre internet and TV months later. In his case it was a really quick and easy process to run the new fibre line from the pole to the house and install the new demarcation box on the house. I suspect this isn't uncommon.
For the answers to your last two questions, you'll need to actually speak with Telus directly. No one here will have the details regarding your specific installation or any problems related to it.

The answer to my questions are basic.
1)The telus contractor isn't going to make easy money on my job so he passed it up for lower hanging fruit. thus wasting my time and money (lost time and income waiting for someone who didn't show up)
2)the Telus contractor didn't have the decency to contact me and tell me he wasn't going to show up and LIED and told Telus he Tried to Contact me!
3)If running the line across the road was going to require a bucket truck and flag crew....THAT should have been done when they installed the Main line as PROMISED.
4)Bottom line is POOR Management and BAD business decisions are made because of the OLIGOPOLY that Telus has in BC.
Nighthawk.....Your PC answer was a waste of your time and mine. i don't care about your fathers internet. Telling me it should be quick and easy isn't news to me. i could have done it myself by now with a ladder and two highway cones if i had the proper cable.
As for the specific installation......THERES A POLE ON THE ROAD AND THE CABLE NEEDS TO BE RUN TO THE HOUSE AND THE DEMARCATION BOX NEEDS TO BE SCREWED TO THE HOUSE. ALSO......THE TELUS GUY NEEDS TO F KING SHOW UP WHEN HE SAYS HE WILL!!!!!FFS

Assumptions and answers are two different things. As I said earlier, you will need to actually speak with Telus directly to deal with this issue and obtain the real answers.
