This year has been huge for the gaming community, with a number of great titles and events taking place. With the summer comes the biggest annual event of all. Los Angeles will once again host the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) from June 12-14. All the major video game hardware and software developers show off their new and upcoming products and games to attendees, with over an expected 20 million people tuning in online as well.

There are always rumours surrounding what games will be shown, with all the major companies showing off what they’ve been working on. Let’s take a closer look at a few exciting titles that are expected to be shown.

Anthem

One of the most anticipated games confirmed to be shown by Electronic Arts at E3 2018 is their upcoming title Anthem. For sci-fi and action fans, this game is expected to be the start of another popular franchise along the lines of EA’s Mass Effect series.

Anthem combines fast paced third-person action with a sci-fi influenced RPG aspect, allowing you to create your character to suit your play style. The open world allows both solo and multiplayer play, with shared world missions that you can play together with up to three friends. Anthem will be released in March 2019.

Super Smash Bros Switch

Another highly anticipated title that Nintendo will be revealing more about is the latest installment in the massively popular Smash Bros. series. Nintendo’s famous crossover fighting game includes a number of characters everyone knows such as Mario, Link, and Kirby.

Each new Smash Bros. game ramps up the fun, and the series is sure to spawn future tournaments and expansions. Since this title is the first Smash Bros. title on Nintendo’s latest console, it’s sure to be very popular with gamers of all ages. No official release date has been announced, though Nintendo has confirmed it will be out before the end of the year.

There are a lot of surprises expected, each year is always bigger than the last. Let me know in the comments if there’s any announcement you’re looking forward to from E3!
