TELUS Health for Good has been helping to remove many of the barriers Canadians living on the streets face in receiving medical care, treating them with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Powered by TELUS Health technology, our Health for Good™ mobile clinics bring primary healthcare and mental health support to the more than 35,000 Canadians who experience homelessness on a given night.

Introducing our two newest Mobile Health Clinics

Nearly 9,000 people in Toronto experience homelessness each day and many face significant challenges and barriers in accessing healthcare services, including lack of transportation, not having a valid health card, trauma, untreated mental illness, life-threatening infections, addiction, and other physical ailments.

Our Parkdale Queen West Mobile Health Clinic, powered by TELUS Health, will provide primary healthcare services to individuals in need in the Parkdale – Queen West neighbourhoods in the midwest region of Toronto. Also, the clinic will enable mobile COVID-19 testing at homeless sheltering sites, congregate housing for marginalized populations, and in areas with high positivity rates.

Our new Kilala Lelum Mobile Health Clinic, powered by TELUS Health, will offer support to individuals in need in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

This clinic will provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive primary medical care, Indigenous Elder-led cultural care, mental health, and addiction support directly to the more than 2,000 people in Vancouver experiencing homelessness on any given night.

Program highlights and COVID-19 response

  • Our mobile health clinics have surpassed 50,000 patient visits across the country since inception in 2014.
  • In 2020 alone we supported more than 28,000 patient interventions. We also welcomed seven new clinics across Canada, including Ottawa, Waterloo Region, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Peel Region, and Surrey.
  • With the help of the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, many of our clinic partners were enabled to support community response efforts during the pandemic, providing more than 12,000 COVID-19 tests and assessments, with many planning involvements in vaccination efforts.
