Here's a few things to consider.
As said before, the monthly cost is $25. Vacation plan is available for a maximum of 6 months. Your contract will be extended by the exact amount of months that you got your line in vacation. As said before, upon re-activating your account, you will have to go with one of their in market plan.

Where you meet the eligibility requirements, you can request vacation disconnect which will reduce your monthly bill to $25 and suspend your service. There is a maximum amount of time that you can be on this though you should be good for the 5 months. The main caveat to this is that the rate plan you have currently, if an older plan, may not be available to you when you return and you may be required to take one of the current in market plans.

$25/month is the cost for Vacation Disconnect, there's a limit of 6 months and you may not be able to get back onto your old plan if its out of market.

Hi, understand the monthly fee going to $25.00 for this. However any fees to put in Vacation Disconnect or take it off Vacation disconnect? Also, if your monthly plan is say $50.00 then you go on Vacation Disconnect at $25.00 for say 3 months will Telus add the $25x3 or $75.00 to your bill later?

The contract is not extended, that would be illegal under the new Wireless Code of Conduct and Telus does not do this.

That is what I was told.

Really? They said it does not get added to the contract?
