Hi, the reason for termination fee is because TELUS subsidize your device on a pre-determined lenght ( contract lenght ). It is normal that they don't loose money if you decide to terminate the agreement before the term.
Depending on when you activated, there should be no activation fees as TELUS elimitated those.
