Okay, I almost never used my prepaid cell until recently, because I had to move and this involved a lot of long distance calling. Little did I realize the long distance rates have gone up to a ridiculous $1/min (despite the misleading $0.50/min it claims on the site, they don't advertise well that, that is + local rate).

Alright, I did receive a text message saying rates were changing as of Aug 1st. However, I have been quite busy of late and didn't have the time to go online to check these rate changes, which I assumed would not be that major. Now, had the text message said "LONG DISTANCE CALLING WILL NOW COST YOU $1/MIN" or something very clear like that, I would have greatly appreciated it.

Thankfully, I had enough credit built up on my account to afford the $160 I spent in the past month unawares.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say here is Telus needs to do a better job of advertising a change like that to its customers.

This siuation coupled with the loss of loyalty rewards I experienced a while back, again due to poorly advertised changes, has me thinking I should be paying Bell or Rogers for my phone services.
