I want to cancel my contract with telus and go with chatr or some other phone company that does monthly for 25-35$. Problem is im in this family contract with my dad i dont knw what that means. But if i do cancel my contract how much do i have to pay the remaining 8 months of my contract?
The outstanding subsidy for the phone would need to be paid by the contract owner at time of cancellation of that line. However, if you want to keep your current number, you can port it to another carrier, but don't cancel your current contract. Once your number is ported, the current contract for that line will be cancelled, and any remaining balance owed will be billed to the contract holder.
