The ‘Mobile Connect Canada’ app can be found in the App Store on your iPhone or iPad, or the Google Play Store on your Android phone or tablet.
Create a 4-digit PIN to secure your app. If your device supports fingerprint recognition, you can turn it on in the app and use it instead of a PIN.
Your name and postal code (if provided) are validated by your mobile carrier against your phone number. This ensures you are the rightful owner of the mobile device being registered.
Once completed, the app will create a unique cryptographic key within your phone that can only be accessed with your specified pin or fingerprint.
The next time you are surfing your favourite website on your laptop, tablet or any Internet capable device click on “login with Mobile Connect” or “continue with Mobile Connect” if you see the logo. A popup will ask for your mobile phone number, and once entered, you will receive a notification on your phone to enter your pin or fingerprint. Simply provide the correct credentials and voila, no more password problems.
