I am currently traveling and purchased a secondary data-only esim on my iPhone. I installed it, set it to the cellular data provider in settings, and turned off “allow cellular data switching” bc I do not want to incur telus data roaming fees. While the majority of data is going through the esim, I am still seeing less than 0.20MB data use per day on occasion from telus. This doesn’t make sense to me since I’ve set my cellular data to my non-telus esim and don’t allow switching.
