SNAP is still available for clients with blocked data or a phone incompatible with MMS (picture messaging). The SNAP gateway keeps a copy of the message for 5 days. Customers receive a password on their phone and will need to speak with our technical support (1-866-558-2273 or https://twitter.com/TELUSsupport) if the password is lost. It is currently impossible to set up forwarding to an email unfortunately.

I'm getting this message as well, but from my relatives. I believe they're trying to send me a multimedia message, but I have data disabled on my phone because I don't subscribe to a data plan and don't want to incur extra charges. (SMS is ok on my phone.)
Is there a way for me to view the message? The message says I can view it on telusmobility.com/snap, gives me a From: nnnnnnnnnn and Password: xxxxx. The nnnnnnnnnn is the phone number of my relative trying to send me the message.

Mardes,
The service has been discontinued for many months now - I think over 18 months if I had to guess.
Ask for the picture via email or other means from the original sender.

Hello, you normally get this when you can't send picture messages using your mobile data network. Older Rum devices also had yo use this service. Try sending the picture using an email with a wi-fi connection if you can! Worst case, Telus will be able to retrieve the pword for your snap account. *611 from your mobile device.

So you're saying that I can't view the message despite it saying, "View at telusmobility.com/snap."
I have my password for my snap account. (Otherwise I wouldn't be typing this.) The message already gives me a password, which implies that there is a place here on snap on which I can view the message. Where is this place or is this simply a misleading message?

Methinks the default message should be changed to something like, "Your phone can't receive this message, possibly because data is disabled. Please contact Telus at ...."
Thanks for clearing that up.

@knch You should suggest this in the idea section. http://forum.telus.com/t5/forums/postpage/board-id/Ideas_TEST

Did you not notice the post right above yours from @SA that outlines that Snap has been dead for 18 months+ now?

nope, but it doesn't really matter; if this snap thing is no longer available, why the he77 am i still getting the texts from Telus? first they make me downgrade my phone because I do not have a data plan, then they tell me I can no longer receive or send pictures (which i have been able to do for the past 7-8 years), and now every time I receive a picture text it tells me to go to a website that doesn't even exist!? Good work Telus. Good marketing, good customer service, excellent product placement.
Not to mention that they (and all providers) continue to charge for text messages when they use incredibly less amounts of data then actual phone calls. Unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars a month to have unlimited... how does the government allow them to do this?

The issue of <TELUS-Mobility/snap> is being around for, quite some time. Dozens of members reported as useless website. If Telus already closed, should come up with a Public statement in this [Forum or by email or text/message to every costumer] But if users still receiving-notifications to Log In that Site to view pics. Then it hasn't been closed yet.
On the other hand-members who post questions, related with <Mobility/snap/site> deserve a decent reply, like the one provided by @SA: Short-precise & polite. That's the way to keep a good harmony in this forum-Avoid confrontations is the key to success . I hope Telus solved this matter Asap..Stay Tuned! Bye <V9>

@scottyantaya - The reason Snap is appearing is specifically because you don't have data on your phone.
@v9 - If you actually read this thread, you'll note the post from ET a few posts up that reads:

Hi-Nighthawk: That's confusing, some members affirm that it doesn't exist anymore, others say the opposite. A public statement from Telus or the forum Management to clarify the issue, would be useful for the Membership's knowledge. If still available in accts, with blocked data & incompatible phones with MMS (Multi-Media-Service)
But go through that process to call a rep. to get a password that doesn't works, according with reports is a hassle.. I red out in that forum called "Crackberry" the Site only works in a PC- So those who are into this-open the link <Telus.mobility.com/snap> in your PCs & try on: Any Kudos welcome by <v9>
