Number Change

Hi,

I recently got a phone with telus, after 5 days I decided I couldn't get used to Android and wanted to return it. When I bought this phone I kept my old number I had. The phone is in perfect shape so the return was no problem. So I wanted to use my old iphone with Telus now. Even though I was told the SIM card I paid for would fit in my iphone, I was told I have to buy a new SIM card anyways. And that I cannot keep my number if I switch. I was told it goes into a 90 day pool. How is this possible if I am staying with Telus the whole time?

You did not provide any information about any discussions you may have had about the contract you may have signed when  obtaining the Andriod Phone. Possibly that is where the confusion arises. I am assuming you have the contract you entered when you purchased the phone. If you cancelled the contract when you returned the phone, then that may be a different case.

My previous comment assumed you kept the contract through this process. You still should be able to maintain or reassume the number through the process.

Login to your account. If the existing SIM does not fit your phone, you should be able to swap to a new SIM on your account from there; else call telus. Your number should remain the same through this process.

Hi if the SIM card fits on your iPhone it's not really necessary for you to change/buy a new SIM card though if the SIM doesn't fit, you need to get a new chip and just update the SIM number on the account as NFtoBC instructed.

**Note: Guaranteed that you could still keep the same phone number you have.
