Yes, unless you have blocked data either through the phone, or through Telus, you may have data charges.

I agree with xl, you get the best advantage from your phone for very little additional cost for data.

BTW.... are you limiting yourself to your home wifi?  If you are using public wifi in hotels and restaurants.... watch out.  Your activity is not encrypted and your risk userid's/passwords are captured with data eavesdropping software.  Research VPN's.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wCn_JjxUJ0

 

I found data plans are very reasonable where it costs less than a cup of coffee a day. I feel much more secure.
