The NFC SIM would have less uptake by consumers, as it is to connect Android phones to payment terminals, so sold online rather than being carried at stores. It should work just fine, if there is not a store nearby for you to pick up a regular LTE SIM. By the way, to my knowledge, there is nothing special about the LTE SIM, as I have been using the same SIM since the pre-LTE days of 2012.

$20 for a SIM is extortion if you ask me...rather get one off eBay several Canadian sellers carry them.

Why is it that Telus is selling their SIMs for $20 whereas other carriers or MVNOs are selling their SIMs for a lower price? For example:

$10 for Rogers,

$10 for Fido,

$10 for Chatr,

$0 for Bell,

$0 for Virgin,

$10 for Lucky,

$15 for Koodo,

$10 for Public

Does Bell still charge an Activation fee? If so, that may explain the $0 Sim cost.

An activation and or connection fee of $25 is charged by Bell but Rogers seems to charge the fee only on select phones or won't charge at all if the connection is done online.
