3yr contract?

i was signed into a 3yr contract july 2013, shouldnt it have switched to a 2yr? Can someone please explain this to me..

From news articles at the time of the announcement:
"The code takes effect on Dec. 2, 2013. Although it will not apply retroactively to existing contracts, it will apply to all new or amended contracts from that time forward."

Since your contract was created before December 2, 2013, the rule does not apply.

If you signed up for a 3yr contract, you're on a 3yr contract. They aren't going to change it to a 2yr.
