Would Oppo R9 work with Telus Vancouver?

Hello, I'm with Telus and was hoping to pick up the Oppo R9 in Asia. I wanted to see if it would work with Telus on the LTE network.

Oppo R9:

Technology: GSM / CDMA / HSPA / EVDO / LTE

2G bands: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
CDMA 800

3G bands: HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100

4G bands: LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)

Many thanks in advance!

You would be much better off getting a HTC10 (if and when it becomes available on Telus) If you prefer to go the android route.

There is also the one +3, but it's had some growing pains. Mostly software glitches and performance issues they're addressing the last few days. (Memory management issue).

I've stuck with Apple because it just works. Even though it's bland and toned down. (The apple way or no way). Not tied to the ecosystem by any means.

If security/privacy is a concern, android has had many exploits in the OS and the play store had some 20,000 rogue apps lately that could steal information. Not saying apple is perfect, but android has way more exploits. The play store anyone can put up malicious apps, they poorly screen them.

You'll have to pick which route you want to go.

I honestly wouldn't buy it, considering it's already in the iphone territory price wise. It has a poor camera, bad graphics chip, heating issues, and there will be a lack of any security updates for it. If you really want Android stick to a brand that will be supported in North America with security and software updates.

Thanks for the reply. It's a lot cheaper than an iPhone. It's about $549 for a 64gb that I could get and that's tax included. I tested the camera and it isn't that that bad. It's mainly because of the price that I'm willing to buy it. I have an iPhone 5SE right now but I'm incredibly tired of iPhone.

What about the HTC 10? Any thoughts on that?
